Moving Day, 2007
Back on Moving Day in 2007, while staying at the Omni, I booked a 5 hour dinner date with Karyna of Eleganza, whom I had not met at the time. Karyna showed up on time, and my plan was to go for dinner to either Sho Dan on Metcalfe or one other place I had in mind, which I can't recall. They were both closed. I am not certain but I think it was Monday night and that may have been an issue as well. I finally settled on Zen, a Chinese restaurant which occupied the basement level of the Omni, but has since closed.
In prior and subsequent years I have always been in Montreal on Moving Day and never had a problem finding a restaurant that was open, so I am wondering whether the fact that it was a Monday may have been a factor as well.
It's insane for any restaurant to close down at any time during Jazz Festival. Montreal is brimming with tourists during Jazz Fest, and most of them are staying in hotels and want to eat out every night. Anyone who closes an eating establishment any day during Jazz festival isn't interested in making money.
As far as escorts go, most of them probably do not have much to move and allowing for traffic, the moves can be done in less than a day. I don't see any reason why most agencies or at least the ones that want to make money would not have very full staffs for each day of the Jazz Festival.
Regarding Formula One week, it is famous for bringing retired escorts out of retirement. This ie because Montreal becomes flooded with Eurodudes who come over to see the race. Many of these Eurodudes are spoiled trust fund babies who come over from Europe with $10,000 cash in their wallet (or $9,999.99, just to be safe about declaration), and that cash is burning a fucking hole in their wallet as soon as they get off their private jet. The escorts lust for these clients, although many of them are also coke sniffing fiends who behave like Charlie Sheen does after snorting a few lines. Still, these clients are viewed as cash cows that need to be milked, and every lady comes out to grab an utter.
