any of you have started using Bitcoin for actual purchases or just holding it as an investment? I've noticed more places accepting it recently, which makes me wonder if its value might shift more based on use than hype going forward. Curious how your views might’ve changed since this was last discussed.
I think with the BTC fluctuation less people are eager to use it as a currency for purchase lol

I see just people who jump into the crypto bandwagon, people trying to time the market or just curious people trying to understanding how it works ...

I also wondered the same a while ago and ended up doing a bit of digging on different platforms. Found https://axiomtrade.xyz/what-is-axiom-exchange/ helpful to understand some basics and how certain exchanges work before throwing any money in. Took off some pressure since I didn’t want to mess up my first moves with crypto.
If people want to try, just get a Wealthsimple account and try for yourself. But the painful part in Canada is that you need to declare crypto holdings...

I have held BITO ETF in my RRSP account for several years, have already made more in dividends then what I originally paid for it. Just remember the principle is very close to a Ponzi scheme, therefore always a risk to lose everything. Would not buy the actual crypto, but hold only ETFs of crypto, this way you do not have to open a wallet.
