Kate Holden’s In My Skin is a very good book and I think it may be an interesting read for hobbyists and Sex workers alike. It is about a recent college grad, Kate Holden, that falls in with the wrong crowd. She tries heroin and becomes addicted. She lost her job and was walking the streets to support her and a her boyfriends habit. She got a break which led to a job in one of the most prestigious brothels in Australia. There, she has to hide her drug use because any use of hard drugs was an automatic dismissal.

Read about how Kate’s life spiraled out of control and what saves her. This is not an anti-sex work book. In fact, Kate is quite proud (maybe proud is not the right word) of her work at the brothel. She provided a much needed service to the men of Melbourne providing comfort and teaching them skills in intimacy. She doesn’t apologize for this. What’s entertaining about the hobby is Kate’s insight into John’s, reviews, other escorts, and street walkers.

I remember wanting to strangle her at times as she falls off the wagon a number of times on the road to sobriety. https://books.google.com/books/abou...A0C&printsec=frontcover&source=kp_read_button

Any other good books out there that deal with this peculiar institution?

Thank your Majesty.

Kate has become popular on YouTube. There are a series of interviews about her life. Warning: She looks like 100 miles of bad road. Her lifestyle had caused her to age about 10-15 years prematurely. Here is an interview:

old, but still pretty hot. Maybe something about the bone structure, she had good breeding and that's hard to lose.

weird, in the video, the camera seems to spend more time on the host than her.

Montreal
Hi,

In case anyone is interested, the Montréal library approved two digital books I submitted a request for them to purchase. They will be part of their digital collection.

If you didn't know about the option to suggest a purpose, you can find it here (you need a library card, which is easy to get online by following the steps). I usually check amazon.ca to get the book/publisher information that needs to be provided with the purchase request

These are the books that were approved:

Organizing for Sex Workers’ Rights in Montréal: Resistance and Advocacy Book description

We Too: Essays on Sex Work and Survival Book description

On another note, I may as well share this here as well. This website happens to be one of my most favourite of all time, it's just amazing. These books and thousands of others are available for download in various formats.

Organizing for Sex Workers’ Rights in Montréal: Resistance and Advocacy

We Too: Essays on Sex Work and Survival

TIP: If you try some keyword searches, you'll find some books about clients of Sex Workers. I don't remember titles but I definitely saw one or two when I was searching.

I have a really big list of Sex Work related books that are available for download on this site. If anyone wants the list, feel free to PM me.

Cheers!

I enjoyed "Fast Girl," written by an Olympian who became a sex worker.
