Canada Day 2006

I am planning a visit to Montreal at the beginning of July, when I noticed that it also happens to be Canada Day... Are there any festivities associated with this national day ?... Will you kindly give what places to see and do for a tourist visiting your lovely city ?...

Coincidentally, the Jazz Festival will also be in full swing then.

I will be in Montreal that day too. I totally forgot about that being Moving Day. Between the commotion with all the moving, plus the disruption of closed streets for the Jazz Festival, traffic should be a real nightmare!!!

Doc,
the Montreal tourism bureau should hire you! I live here and you made me want to go out and visit the city.
You forgot one place though, that I have never been to, the Biodome. If anyone goes to the Botanical Gardens they should hike across the street to check the Biodome out. I've heard it's quite a place.
In fact I think I'll spend some time this summer getting to know my city again. Thanks DH!!

PS: Moving day used to be June 1st but it was changed as it screwed up kids at the end of the school year. So they moved it to July 1st to screw up Canada Day instead.
