Agreed 500 percent a better player and much better attitute and he can score goals.
another good choice grate team mate wonderful work ethic and very much liked in the locker room.
Georges must be re-signed, and that one year contract means nothing to his future with the habs, he is the best shut down Dman the Habs have and if they let him walk they are nuts. He should get a 4-5 year deal in the 3.5-4 mil per season range. The problem is, by taking on Kaberles contract, there is little wiggle room to sign Price (priority #1) Subban, and Georges. However, if the habs are out of playoff contention at the trade deadline, they can easily move a Kaberle or possibly a Gionta or Cammy to free up the cap room to sign all three.
Agreed, and for once in a very long time, the Canadiens would actually have a Canadian as Captain.
If markov does not come back because of injury and does not retire, his contract still does NOT count against the cap and i think the Molson's have enuf $$$ to overcome his near $6 mil per season he is collecting while hurt, plus insurance covers some or all of it anyways.
I agree, but i doubt they'll allow another unilingual anglophone to be named captain. I also doubt they'd give him the captaincy (although no one else deserves it except maybe Erik Cole) unless they're certain he'll sign with them. He's UFA after this season & the team might not have the money to re-sign him, since they still have to re-sign RFA's Carey Price & P.K. Subban. Andrei Kostitsyn is also UFA & my guess is that the team would want to hang onto him.
how know what ? two seasons ago they did'nt have a captain and it was the best post-season team since1993.
Captains on sports teams are very overrated. Is there a captain on an NFL team? On an NBA team? If so, you never hear about them. I know a couple of MLB teams have captains, but i have no idea who was (or if they had one) captain on the Blue Jays.
When i will comme back I DON't think that GIONTA CAN STAY CAPTAIN FOR THe habs,all of his friend in the club are gone except GOMEZ.
