it's all so funny. No matter what anyone thinks if Trump, pro or con, nobody is going to be able to say that his presidency hasn't been consequential. The precedents are all being set here, and all the checks and balances are being tested and stretched to their limits. Barring legislative changes every time the power transfers from one party to the other there's going to be an onslaught of policy reversals, executive orders and petty retaliatory processes. The bureaucracy can only provide so much stability.

I am not sure what this comment has to do with what I posted. Jimmy Kimmel does not have a job in politics, nor do I believe he could win a race for Dogcatcher. Even as Hollywood Dogcatcher.
Kimmel was on tv, Trump was on TV, Reagan was an actor in chimpanzee movies. You don't have to be a lawyer or a politician to be president, or an expert at anything to be a politician, or if you are a politician be expert at whatever you're put in charge of. I used RFK as an example as someone who is spectacularly unsuited for the position he's in. There's lots of politicians who shouldn't be dogcatcher either. Kimmel isn't in an elite club of people who aren't qualified to be doing what they're doing and who should keep their yap shut. In Washington the public would be better served if almost everybody in Congress just shut their fucking mouths and stayed home, and put the dogcatcher in charge instead. That's what the relevance was in my mind.

Honestly I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I cannot and will not shed a single tear for Jimmy Kimmel, and I would like this smug, condescending asshole, who was getting very bad ratings, to be forced to go out and get a real job like the rest of us. Where he doesn't get paid for his egoistical rantings on matters he knows nothing about, but instead gets paid for the reasonable value of his meaningful contributions to the business of his employer.
On the other hand, I think Trump is a wee bit too sensitive to criticism from nobodies like Kimmel, and rather than stifle them as he did, he should just retort to them on Truth Social as he did. Even an idiot like Kimmel has a right to spout nonsense that results in poor ratings, and Trump should have simply allowed him to be cancelled in the normal course for poor ratings for being a substanceless, smug, condescending, elitist egomaniac and asshole who believes that spouting his opinions has any value to the public.
