There was no way for that guy to know he was a cop, as he was off duty, and not in uniform. It's almost a lock that he had no idea whether the dude had a piece. I am sorry but under those circumstances no way would I have stood and watched that petite young woman get pummeled. At a minimum he should have grabbed something and hit the guy or otherwise distract him. That woman could have been beaten to death.
I would have have grabbed a bottle of Absolut, splashed some vodka in his face, and then whacked him over the head with the bottle.

The 1st is when the Bartender tells the off duty officer he is shut off.
The 2nd is the Brutal Attack by the 6'1" 250 lb officer. The Bartender is 5'3" 130 lbs.

The 2nd Link, talks about how someone tried to bribe the Bartender not to press charges. It also says the officer had a verbal incident with the man across the Bar, and the Bartender is trying to stop the officer attacking the patron.

Unfortunately, bad cops are not exactly a rarity either in or out of uniform. Look at the Montreal rapist cop in the news today for another current example. And in uniform some seem to have become masters at covering up brutality and blunders - unless their victim has some sort of celebrity (e.g.: Peladeau's daughter).

she actually gets up and walks away from it all........you'd figure the way she was beat by the jerk she be out cold......he must not have much force behind his punchs even at 230lbs......typical cop can only do harm with the gun or night stick......if I was the cop I'd be embarassed by my acts and even more by the fact that the 130 lbs bartender got up after his beat down.

He was drinking at a bar, was drunk and shut off by the bartender and then launched an unprovoked attack on her. Whether anyone knew who he was is pure speculation and not supported by any facts we heard or saw in that video.

I'll say one thing, that guy is lucky he didn't try to lay a beating like that on my wife. She used to bartend and once I saw her throw a drunken Russian bigger than Oliver into the sea. (Actually, she hit him with a chair and he fell over the wall into the sea. ) It was at that moment that I fell in love.

This sick fuck should be fired and jailed for five years. It's inconceivable that a police officer acts like this. I am glad she was able to walk away and the idiots that stood there should have put him down.
