The first thing you need to understand about any of the ED meds is that taking the pill in itself will not give you an erection. You still have to be physically and mentally stimulated. So, understanding that you can gauge your own situation. There are also many other physical factors (including high blood pressure, stress, etc) that can effect your "libido" or "mojo" if you will and for the purposes of my answer I am going to assume the rest of your health is A-Ok.

Now back to the "magic pills". First the why for me...and it is really the reason I replied to your post. I noticed as I got later into my 40's that although I never had a problem getting erect or even staying erect that the sensation just was not as intense as it was say in my 20's and 30's...sucks getting older...lol. So wanting to regain that part of my youth...LOL...I asked the doc about the pills and tried them. What I found was that when I used them I seemed to "get back" if you will some of that lost sensation. And I was stiffer...that is a fact. I can only guess that this is because these pills work by allowing the blood to flow more freely and there was more flowing to my smaller head. I am also guessing that a small part of it could be "placebo effect" (because even the real pills can make you think things are better) as described by meetoo4 earlier in this thread. Whatever it was, it worked.

I have tried all 3 of the majors. YMMV and we are all different. Levitra for me sucks...won't ever use it again...long story... Viagra has a short life and makes me flush in the face. Now Cialis...BINGO. Load up, works in about 30 minutes...takes a little longer if I have just eaten. But then I am good for about 24 -28 hours. They say 36, but not in my experience.

Anyway, if the situation sounds similar and you too are among the aging boomers who want to feel 30ish again (at least part of you) ...one of the "magic pills" might do it.

Of course finding a hot Québécoise lady and spending some time in Montreal always helps too!

PS Relative to the condom...if its too tight, that could cause a problem too by restricting the blood flow. Condoms are made to the "average" size. Last I read "average" was a length of about 5.5 - 6 inches and a girth of 4.5 - 5 inches. Gauge yourself accordingly

Ok guys, always talk to a Doc before taking those pills !! First, Yes you can and will develop an acquired tolerence too any suplement. You need to understand how those product work. There are vasodilatator, wich means they cause dilation of blood vessels in ALL your body. That explain why your face blushes, some have headache or other side effect.

This also means that you should NEVER take nitro pill or spray while under cialis or viagra. They also are vasodilatator and there effect will combine and the result can be leathal !

In brief, talk to your DOC, yes it will cost you but you'll stay in shape for many encounter, I mean years !!

Good advice. My Cialis is prescribed, and I had all the medical instruction on its use from my doctor. And I was just kidding..I have a great heart and don't carry any nitro around.

I am not sure why younger people who don't need it would want it.

I have taken cialis, viagara and levitra. Levitra works best for me in terms of having the least side effects. I have an active prescription for Levitra and take it pursuant to strict physician advice.

These drugs absolutely should not be taken if they are not needed and only should be used under a physician's advice. Best results are achieved if taken at least one hour before sexual activity on an empty stomach.

ED is the only reason these drugs should be taken. If you do not have some level of ED, don't take them. For those who don't have ED it's not an all or nothing problem. When you advance into your 40s maintaining an erection for a prolonged period can become problematic. These drugs will prevent you from getting soft at the wrong time, and will keep your pecker hard. If you don't have a problem in that regard do not use these drugs.

Ha! My Dick used to get so hard I couldn't even blink. I get samples from my doctor routinely. I really like the Levitra and Viagra because I would pop one 15-20 minutes prior to a visit and I have a better time. I even fired twice in 1 hour recently. I tried Cialis at 2.5 mg and they didn't seem to do anything.

My Dr. put me on a weight loss drug/appetite suppressant which led to erections that are not as hard as they used to be. He gave me Levitra and Cialis to try. He increased the dose on the Cialis to 10 mg. I have yet to try them.

If you are in your 40's and things aren't working like they used to...you may try a sample pack. Ask your Dr. and be prepared to give him/her a story. Tell him that you are over worked and stressed and you have a fear that you will not be able to perform. He will give you a free sample pack with a safe dosage and instructions. This is the best way.

I am in my early fifties and i am still able to have fun a couple of times in a 2hr date with out any problem and on very rare occasions i am able to have fun 3 times. It was not that long ago perhaps 5 yrs that i was able to have fun 3 times in a 2 hr date pretty much every time. I used to book a lot of 3 to 4 hr dates but now i rarely book a date longer then 2hrs because after 2hrs it is just seems like it is to much work to have anything happen. Even though i don't really feel like i need them at times i have often thought about trying them just to see how they would work on longer dates but i have always been to worried about the possibility of them causing a heart attack to even experiment with them. I do realize having a heart attack because of these drugs is very rare especially in someone like me who has no heart issues but at this point i just don't want to risk it.

Paddler, you're body doesn't get used to ED drugs so, for a 20yo to take some and stop, the only drawback will be the 20yo's mind telling him he can't perform without it, not a physical problem linked to a physical dependence.

Anyhow, I agree everybody should see a doctor before taking these pills. Peoples can have a weak heart at 20yo, it's possible! I even know of a promising young athlete who died of a heart attack while training so, imagine sex on Viagra on somebody with such weakness.

Personally, I tried Viagra, Levitra and Cialis. Viagra and Levitra are in the same class, act in a similar way and have almost the same side effects. Cialis acts differently and is a different class of drug. Both Levitra and Viagra leave me with a stuffy nose, puffy eyes and headache. After a heavy exhausting session, my last date was wondering if I was ok because my eyelids were all puffy.

Cialis give me a mild headache but nothing comparable to the other 2, and I don't get the puffy eyes, only minimal congestion.

Viagra and Levitra are killed by a heavy fatty meal. A steak with fries and the effect won't be as good. An empty stomach or light food is recommended.

Cialis don't mind food. The only difference will be a slower absorption so, slower effect. With it, you can eat what you want but, for faster effect, it's better to keep it a light meal, a small portion or, if possible, take your meal a few hours after the pilll. Since Cialis work for over 24 hours, that's an option you don't have with the other 2 who last about 4 hours. Cialis can be taken at dinner time, around 6pm on a good meal and will still be 100% effective at 10pm for an encounter.

On my side, I found ED drugs to help but mostly, it's between my ears. I had strippers getting me hard like if I was still 20yo and keep me like this for half hour, without ED drugs yet, I had escorts who couldn't keep me hard long enough to have a good fuck, even while on ED drugs. The difference was the connection with the girl and her ability to make me forget everything around me besides her.
