'Kung Fu' star David Carradine has been found dead in a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand

American actor David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel, according to his personal manager, Chuck Binder.

David Carradine became famous in the 1970s after starring in the television series "Kung Fu."

Binder said Thursday that the death is being investigated but could provide no other details.

Carradine's death was "shocking and sad. He was full of life, always wanting to work ... a great person," Binder told People magazine.

Carradine, who became famous in the 1970s when he starred in the television series "Kung Fu," was 72.

Modern audiences may best know him as "Bill" in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" films.

His career included more than 100 feature films, two dozen television movies and theater work.

Various other news agencies – including Thailand’s English-language newspaper The Nation – are reporting that the 73-year-old was found in his Bangkok hotel room, a victim of an apparent suicide by hanging.

While he was the star of the Kung Fu series, it was originally to star Bruce Lee, the show was actually based on Lee's idea, who lost the role because studio executives felt he was 'too Chinese' for the role. Of course Bruce Lee went on to Hong Kong and became the biggest Martial Arts star the world has ever known but I've often wondered how things would have turned out if he had gotten the role in Kung Fu.

He was there filming a movie, not for any sordid personal reasons.

What I'm wondering about is what the topic of the film was. It just seems weird that it was named 'Stretch' when what he did was use a cord to stretch his neck and his penis. Yeah I know...I'm stretching things.

Carradine's sex secrets spilled

In the wake of David Carradine's mysterious death, two of his ex-wives are shedding light on his kinkier sexual preferences.

Gail Jensen and Marina Anderson -- wives No. 3 and 4, respectively -- confirm that the "Kung Fu" star had engaged in sex acts that veer from the norm.

Jensen tells RadarOnline that Carradine liked to tie himself up, had a fetish for Speedos and often experimented with drowning himself in the pool.
