4 conference finals

Got eliminated only twince in the first round by edmonton and Calgary if i remmeber correctly

And always finishing in the top 6 overall.

Without ever having a top drafting spot.

Datsuyk 3 round , zman middle round too, even The hall of famer lidstrom was drafted in the 3 round in 89 .

I do agree on some points. Would i consider them such a Dynasty as the Edmonton Oilers of the late 80? NO. Would i consider them a Dynasty such as the Islanders of the late 70 and beginning of 80? NO

BUT they do accomplish something big considering how much team there is today, and i do agree there talent scout are fucking awesome. But they have something in there sleeves. They attrack great free agent considering there status, and there team is just very greatly balanced. Osgood never did so awesome out of detroit...but he manage to get good records with this team because he got a solid defense and all. So yeah the wings are a great team, but im sick of having them top spot in the west every damn year. I like to see something new. Got to say they manage the top salary cap very well also, too much teams go crazy over one player and it just destroy the team(lightning with lecavalier and st-louis or Atlanta with Kovalchuk)

Anyway i just hope some team manage to balance a little bit more next year, im sick of seeing an once great team as the islanders being the bottom of the crate...

I was not asking to compare , you could always add the habs in the 70s with scotty bowman at the helm of the team.

Other teams were also bringing big names to their rosters when there was no cap. Islander will get tavares now , but i don't think they will get that much better . But thats just a personal opinion. Milbury really drowned that team .
And in the west you will have the chicago blackhawks that will rise higher than detroit in the next few years.

Chicago sound to me like a young version of the penguins. Even with Crosby and Malkin, they didn't won the cup straight away, the first year they didn't made the playoff, the second they got eliminated first roung, then they made the finals and now the cup. So futur look bright at chicago...

Well, it WAS a good thread until Holliday and his little lapdog came and started polluting it with their usual nonsensical drivel. Too bad that when they get bored "hanging out" holding hands and watching their beloved figure skating on Holliday's couch they come to MERB and start spewing their made-up idiocy. "Brainwashed", "lousy team", "beaten silly", "the bubble bursts" - don't all these quotes relate very well to the leafs and their two lovebird fans? That is, unless you think a 29th place finish, the worst results in 20 years, no playoff appearances in the last half dozen years, and no final round appearances in the last 43 years are the mark of a "good" team.
Since you and your pet were bragging earlier in the year about how it was "an exciting time to be a leaf fan", I would think that at some point your "bubble burst". (For YOUR sake, I just hope it wasn't when you two were "hanging out".)
