Another possibility is a USA-Canada merger into the United Kingdom of North America......only problem is neither country ever had any kings or queens, so we may need to invent some.

Canada's head of state is Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada. Canada is a constitutional monarchy.

But the US is now very near to a monarchy. And they actually govern as well. You have the Clintons: Bill and the soon to be pretender to the throne, Queen Hillary. Then, you have the Bush's with George HW Bush, and his son, George Dubya Bush, but with an intellect comparable to King Ludwig of Bavaria. And who can forget the Kennedy clan: John F. Kennedy, and his brother and heir to the throne Bobby, both victims of regicide. So why try to adopt the royalty of another country when the US has its own, since they seem to achieve power through heredity.
