Hi all
What is your level of confidence in the credibility of the media to report real facts ?
Do you examine the source?
The credibility of the journalist?
Of the website ?
The editor?
How do you validate if its true ?
Do you counter reference ?
Whats your opinion ?
If you believe you have a great methodology to avoid believing in lies or deceit please share !

Warmest Regards

I usually look at a few things. I don't properly weight any of these. Just an overall feeling - that's what I look for.

1. Is it a popular source? Like psychology today, bbc, the guardian, huffington post etc.
2. Does the author sound logical and rational? Or is he making arguments based on emotion? You can tell by reading an article if it was logical or just emotional. I don't check the facts. That's too much work.
3. If I have time, I read the comments. If the author has any facts wrong, many people usually point that out in comments.

I am most skeptical of blogs. I don't usually trust them since people writing blogs are often not thorough in their arguments.

God no! People lie, exaggerate the truth, understate the truth, twist the truth, have biases, etc.
