Wouldn't statehood mean that Greenland would get 2 senators? Since the majority of people in any democracy in the world are to the left of the Republicans, wouldn't that make it more difficult for Republicans to control the Senate? Doesn't the House or Senate have any power to kibosh such an offer?

Amazing how the white people of Greenland are offered statehood so quickly! What about the brown people of Porto Rico, the majority of whom demand independence or statehood? What of the majority dark people of D.C. who have no senate representation and limited House representation?

i don't think it's about the people on either the greenland or the PR, it's the land and geographical location of strategic importance and what the land contains and not.

so it's not a color of skin thing you're trying to or think there is, I wouldn't make this to be a race thing.

That stopped. PR doesn't really add much benefit to US it's in no rush to bring it in as a state. besides, persons born on PR are auto US citizens.

back in the day, USA having some play in PR prob helped USA just in case w/ Cuba/USSR communism getting too close reach to USA, USA needed it to hedge if shit hit the fan.

I dunno if USA should be getting GL. But if shit hits the fan from China and or Russia... GL will get taken over in miliatarily 'no time'...
and USA would have/end up to be involved to defend/rescue it anyway because likely GL is merely a hopping point for Russia / CHina over to NorthAmerica..
