Dylan or Springsteen Stopping by Montreal?

The local papers are buzzing a rumour about these two hitting MOntreal and Pollstar published a date for a Dylan show? Anything to the Springsteen date/rumour?

Springsteen's web site shows no sign of a tour. On Wikipedia, however, Steven Van Zandt is quoted as saying that the boss is likely to take 2007 off as he toured extensively last year.

Dylan was here last year and gave a lackluster performance.

Looks like Dylan will be July 4th at Salle Wilfred Pelletier... IF you can catch him on a good night he can still put on the magic. A couple years ago I saw him in NYC and was literally blown away. The most coherent performance of his I've ever seen in person (and I've seen many). He only forgot the words to one or two songs the whole night... I think he quit drinking for a while... If you catch him during a "binge" the shows are not so great.. but he ALWAYS has an amazing band to pick up the slack...

Tickets go on sale on May 3. He's in Quebec City the night before, Ottawa the night after.

Hi JoelCairo, I agree with that. One big difference between the two is that with Bruce, you know exactly what you are going to get -- since it's guaranteed to be EXACTLY the same show he played the night before, with maybe one or two song variations. High energy, musical perfection -- like you said, a great performance, but not necessarily too original. With Bobby D, it's a crap shoot every night. He picks a lot of songs on the fly -- so you might hear a lot of incoherent mumbling, or you might get a gem of a performance including rare songs that he may not have played for years... With Bob, I find it helps to go in with low expectations. Then, you are more likely to be pleasantly surprised...
