elevator keys

I stayed at the lowes hotel vogue during a recent trip to montreal. Great hotel, but I didnt' like the fact I had to go down to meet my service providers because the hotel elevator requires a key card. I prefer just to have the girl show up at my door. i've searched the forums and it seems most hotels are the same way. Are there any high-end or semi high-end hotels similar to the vogue that do not require key cards to enter the elevators?

When I go to such a hotel I alway dress in a relatively conservative manner, walk up to the desk and tell them that Mr. So-and-So in room XYZ is expecting me. They call the room to confirm and either give me a key or accompany me to the elevator and swipe their key.

This way my client does not have to come down. It looks like a business appointment. AND the client ahas a few minutes warning that I am on my way up for those last minute things (one last glance in the mirror, gargle with mouth wash...)

You should try hotel mortagne in boucheville, it`s a really nice hotel.

The showers are awesome to by 2 in it. lol

Some hotels also lock the front door after a certain time. For example, the Residence Inn Marriott Downtown-Westmount locks the front door at midnight so if you want to enter the hotel after midnight, you need a keycard.

Jimace, believe me, this isn't a problem! All the lady have to do is ring the bell. If she look decent, she won't have problems. The reason they do this is to protect the night staff since often, they are out of the lobby area, preparing the quick check-out invoices in the back. They rather control who gets in than find a beggar sleeping on a couch in the lounge!

The Hyatt and the Sheraton don't require elevator keys. If you're all about popcorn sheetrock,a ridiculously overpriced mini-bar, and the occasional false fire alarm, choose the Sheraton.

I normally schedule my appointments so that they show up before midnight and they also either leave before midnight or they leave the following morning so I've never had any issues with the door being locked and I don't know if it is also "locked" from the inside requiring a keycard to get out. It's good to know that there isn't any issues in case I get a later evening appointment or an appointment after midnight I don't have to wait outside the hotel for her to show up.

It's not locked from inside. I once asked Maude at the front desk if there would be problems with the front door being locked if I had "late visitors". Her answer was "Don't worry about that..." with a big wink and smile...

Mind you, I never had to get a lady inside that late! But I've seen pizza delivery guys and other unidentified girls being buzzed-in without problems.

Mind you, I never had to get a lady inside that late! But I've seen pizza delivery guys and other unidentified girls being buzzed-in without problems.

I don't know who Maude is... I do see the same girls working there whenever I use this hotel. Recently I've started to see an Asian girl there.
