Flu Season

This years flu is more widespread and deadlier than in past seasons. Its spread easily and the current vaccine is not all that effective.
Will the flu have a damper effect on activity ?
I saw a girl recently who had the sniffles and I held back on kissing her...... and now I`m hesitant about my future appointments this winter.

Are you guys doing anything different to protect yourselves and your partners ?

There was a horrible flu going around Alberta in December, lasted two weeks and kicked you hard. Hand sanitizers ( a lot ) and no passing a joint around, if someone was sick in a house I would not visit, eat lots of citrus fruits, get rest and do not tire yourself out.
If the same strain gets there it is not pleasant. If a SP has the sniffles I would stay away, avoiding kissing is not near 100% of not catching it.

Absolutly.....i have the flu----bad one---since the 31th of December.....so am very quiet and can't wait getting better. I stay home...went out only twice for grocery and Jean-Coutu.....This way i protect myself and surtout others. Should b fine soon....it's going better now and should b ready by next week pour reprendre mes activités and the hobby. Take care cause this year flu is very bad and really unpleasant.

I can verify that this is a bad one. Not too long after my annual flu shot, in November I got hit with the worst case of flu and diarrhea that I have ever experienced. It took me six weeks to recover.

Being 68 years of age probably did not help; however, I am otherwise in good health for my age.

The bottom line is that you do not want to experience this; trust me on this one!

According to me, flu is definitively a good reason to cancel a naughty date.

Having said that, I believe that simple little things like rest, healthy food and grandmother recipes help to keep the flu far away. We live in a society where life in general is too fast and stressful. Often, when a simple virus as the cold lasts several weeks, it is that our body tries to send a message ; you need to slow down.

Otherwise, self-care and grandmother recipes can be good weapons to fight the cold. Gargling with salt and water everyday and drinking lemon-ginger infusion can make little miracles. For those really willing to knock the flu, the traditional garlic gloves in the ass, is probably the best way to win quickly. It's my personal recipe, and it always works.

I know that it is a place that absorbs into the system very fast but never on a million years would I have thought of garlic cloves up the ass..... During the winter I take garlic capsules and level up my garlic cooking, pretty sure I am not gonna shove garlic up my ass though, not that there is anything wrong with it.

The flu has been very severe in Alberta this season accounting for numerous deaths in older patients with compromised immune systems. The emergency rooms are full of people with flu : I've never seen it this bad before. Knock on wood and plenty of garlic and lemon ginger tea I haven't been exposed yet.

Stay away from crowded public toilets, according to a UK documentary on viruses it there that you are likely to catch something. Evidently couching and sneezing will expel the virus, but also pooping releases virus laden gasses that float in the air for unsuspecting victims to inhale.
