Answering my own question

According to NHL.com the 2005-2006 schedule will be released Wednesday July 27th at noon Eastern. In other words, tomorrow around lunchtime.

I’m not too sure about this choice, the reaction has been pretty negative on the Habs boards, even the announcers on TSN were surprised by this choice. I hope Gainey knows what hes doing. Montreal hardly talked to him, which would suggest to me that this guy was not Gaineys pick all along, someone they thought would be available was not in the 5th position, maybe they thought they could get Pouliot?

The man the Habs wanted was Bobby Ryan, picked up by Anaheim with the 2nd overall pick.

What was surprising about Gainey drafting Price was the fact there seemed to be no need to draft a goalie with such a high pick. After today, i'd be shocked if the Habs re-sign Jose Theodore next year. He will be an unrestricted free agent, and rumoured to be asking $5 million for 4 years next year. His agent, Don Meehan, is hoping to get him to sign with Toronto once Belfour retires after this season.

If i would have been Gainey, i would have drafted that gritty speedster Gilbert Brule, out of the Western league. He went next to Columbus. The Mtl fans would have fallen in love with this guy!

Well the first game for us is officially set in stone...

The boys & me will be up for the Sat. 2/4/06 game!

We're looking into the Oct. one and if not maybe a Nov. trip up... Anyway, it's good to have the date set.
