Getting a Prescription from the US filled in Canada

This is really late, but may benefit someone else... I have had a similar experience within Canada...
When I left behind regular prescriptions (i.e. on file with a pharmacy) I went to a new pharmacy (same company, but I don't think that that matters), got their contact information. Then called my regular pharmacy and had them transfer the prescription to the new store. It took about an hour.
If you have had it filled at a pharmacy in the US, my guess is that it would be fine.
If it has never been filled, but you don't have the original script, I suspect you may have a problem, unless the pharmacy can call the Doctor's office to verify and get an original.
I don't imagine the country matters, assuming it's not something that hasn't been approved in Canada.

Country does matter. The Canadian pharmacy can't fill a prescription written by a US doctor. You need a Canadian physician to write an "equivalent" prescription for the medication.

My buddy just got back n forgot his meds in usa. They would not even call his pharmacy n try n get it transferred which surprised me. He had to go to an urgent care and nget prescriptions from a Canadian doc n pay out of pocket for visit.
A friend of mine realized he had forgot to bring one of his prescriptions when he arrived in Mtl. He called someone at home & they shipped it via FEDEX to his hotel in Mtl. He received it the following day.
I had the same situation in the US with a colleague. 500$ US for a visit to a physician to confirm a 10$ prescription... Don't forget your meds!

This is not surprising as it’s already iffy if they would fill a US prescription with a hard copy. But a transfer? Forget it. In the US, some states allow prescriptions from Mexico and Canada, just not any controlled substances obviously.
I’d figure a transfer would be easier, the accepting pharmacy would call the establishment like a Walgreens or cvs n be able to talk to a pharmacist. Anyone could steal or make a fake prescription. In a lot of foreign countries u can literally walk into a pharmacy n get shit like augmentin or amlodipine. No prescription needed. Canada’s n interesting place, it’s tough to get a job as a foreign health provider, tough to write a prescription, but god bless them easy as fuck to get laid
Unfortunately, you can't file a prescription from a US doctor in Canada and vice versa. You will need to go to a walk in clinic in Canada and get that doctor to prescribe your medication here. Just show them your medication list from the US. This is done in exceptional cases.
