I went to my first NHL hockey game last year, at the Bell Center, following all kinds of ticket and stadium and food advice out here. It was a blast. The after-game party with Alexandra in my hotel room was also a hoot. She might have called me "the rocket"--my memory is a bit hazy.
For sure, I chose *exactly* the moment in the season that the Canadiens started their descent from early-season wizardry to late-season embarrassment (for which I take full responsibility), but I still enjoyed following the team, watching videos of Montreal sportswriters, and watching games. I'm not enough of a fan to know what to expect this year--is it all gloom and doom?--but: last night I looked at the schedule for the first time, lined up some hotel rates with interesting ages, noted the on-sale ticket dates, poked through a few agency websites (who's on tonight? who's on after the Bruins game in December?), and so on.
I look forward to the official NHL thread (Doc?)--and for more Montreal action, on and off the ice.....
