You make some very valid points in regards to Shea Weber. However it's obvious that the guy doesn't give a damn since he's continuing to get paid. He didn't ask to remain team captain. Personally i think it's ridiculous that he's still considered the team captain considering we all know that he'll never play hockey again & that he's virtually in retirement. Usually when a captain goes out for an extended period a team often choses to promote one of the alternate captains until the captain returns to the ice. This didn't even happen this season. Why not?

A team captain like Weber cannot do his job from the confines of his million dollar home in Kelowna. The habs should have adressed the matter at the start of the season & name a captain. They created this unecessary drama, not Weber. I agree that it's wrong that he refuses to adress the media, which is really adressing the fans. Who knows. Maybe we're all seeing his true colors. Maybe he's really an asshole in real life.

Weber peut pas vraiment parlé au journaliste a cause de son contrat ! Les Prédateurs vont devoir payer des pénalités si il prend sa retraite qui est une conséquence d'une offre hostile que les Flyers avait fait pour l'aquerir. De plus, il est éligible a une échange d'ici le 21 Mars pour une équipe qui voudrait l'acquérir pour l'ajouter sur leur masse salariale pour atteindre le plancher comme les Coyotes ou les Sabres.
Ecoute cette capsule des amateurs de sports au 98.5 FM avec Mario Langlois, Martin McGuire et Dany Dube. Tu vas comprendre que c dans l'intérêt du CH et des Prédateurs qui se tiennent loin des journalistes !

PS: Weber a un vieux contract avec son salaire qui diminue a tout les ans pour les prochains 4 ans. Au total c'est 7.8M sur 4ans qui reste avec 3M l'ans prochain. Ce n'est plus possible de signer ce genre de contrat la depuis qu'il y a un plafond salariale dans la ligue.

J'avais entendu parler de cette pénalité si il prenait sa retraite, mais ça éclaircit un peu l'affaire. En tout cas une chose est sûre, on ne le reverra pas sur patins et son leadership est dur à exercer de son divan, quoiqu'on en dise.

Shea Weber is the one who decided on his own that he didn’t want to address the media in Vancouver. The hockey team wanted him to meet with the media. Chantal Macabee pleaded with him to speak with them & address the fans. She reminded him that he’s still the team captain. He still refused.

En effet, rendu trop fragile. Il a donné tout ce qu'il avait à donner. S'il avait une chance d'emmener une coupe à Montréal c'était l'été dernier, et encore là c'aurait été une coupe Covid.

Je ne vois pas ce qu'on en retirerait pour les prochaines années alors qu'il passera la mi-trentaine, et que le club sera reconstruit. Je lui souhaite quand même le gros trophée, mais ailleurs.

A friend of mine attended last night's game and told me today that there were thousands of empty seats in the Bell Centre. Stu Cowan also mentioned this earlier today on Tony Marinaro's podcast. Cowan added that covid was kind of a wake up call for many fans. He explained that the tickets to the game were expensive & covid got fans used to staying home & watch the game on their 4K 75" tv instead, with cheaper food & beer. He added if the game's no good they can simply stop watching the game & watch a movie on Netflix or something. He said that for the price of two reds you can buy yourself a brand new big screen tv. The price of the food is way overpriced at the game & same thing for the beer so why not stay home & watch the game in a more comfortable setting? And if being among other fans is your thing just go to a bar & watch the game on several big screen tvs while eating pizza & drinking a few beers.

I just admit that covid also was a wake-up call for me in regards to attending live sports events. I used to attend several hockey games both in Toronto & Montreal over the years. I figure i would attend about 4 games in Montreal & maybe 2 in Toronto. I'd also attend a couple of Raptors games. And maybe a Buffalo Bills game once a year or once every two years. I'd attend the Canadian GP every two years or so. But as i told a buddy of mine who'll be heading to Ottawa & Mtl in April to watch a couple of games i doubt i'll ever attend a live sports event again. Especially if the game is being shown on tv. I told him covid made me realize that it was a waste of money.

Edmundson is out because it was a back-to-back game & they wanted to give him more time to heal. By the way am i the only one who had a problem with St-Louis' selection of shooters during the shootout last night?

Hard to say. They’d probably like to get rid of Weber, Price, Gallagher & Petry’s big contracts but it’ll be next to impossible. Maybe one or two of those during the offseason.

If they feel Price can come back they may try to trade one of their other goalies for something of equal value but who knows. I have a feeling they’ll re-sign Kulak & i can’t see why they’d trade Lekhonen considering his age & decent contract. They may try to trade Dvorak but they won’t get more than a second round pick for him. Since they gave a first to obtain him my guess is that they’ll hang onto him for that reason alone.

I look at who they might want to trade to get rid of his contract & to get a very good return for & the name Josh Anderson comes up. However my gut-feeling tells me he’ll be staying put.
