Hey folks,

I would appreciate any recommendations for places where I can take my laptop and work. I will be staying in the downtown area. I can work from my hotel, but prefer something that is not lonely. Are we allowed to work in the hotel lobby? Or is it weird? Any other nice spot like a cafe where I can purchase something to sit and work? Thanks in advance!

The Grande Bibliothèque de BAnQ near Berri UQAM station is fantastic for working. Quiet, nice big desks plus the wifi is strong. Open to public. You can work in the library, or there's a big lecture hall space near the archives on the 2nd floor. St Denis is a block away for all the restaurants you need. Open Tue-Fri 9am to 9pm, close at 5 pm on the other days.

Ah sweet, that's good to know. Will head to the BAnQ. Thanks very much. Much appreciated!

Working from the lobby is quite frequent, and lots of cafés everywhere downtown... which hotel will you be visiting or in which area so we can give you more precise suggestions?
Thanks very much for the suggestions. Much appreciated! I will be staying at the Bonaventure Hotel.

Hey Art Vandeley,
Those are nice place to work during the day around Downtown:
1) Crew Collective & Cafe (Fantastic architecture in an old bank including private space if you want)
2) Cafe Parvis (Open at 11h on the other hand)
3) Tommy Café

There are many other interesting places. Montreal is a fantastic city to explore

Aside from a cool SP scene, I actually think Montreal is a boring city. I'm so jaded with MTL to be honest.
I won't respond directly to this comment (unnecessary in this post in any case). But Montreal has what many big cities don't have: Montrealers of course. Montreal doesn't compete with New York, Los Angeles and Paris for Architecture, events and the amount of people of course but definitely it's a city where the openness and welcome is unique... And we eat well en TABARNAK!!! And Montreal's cafés are perfect places to meet people.

If you're ready to walk 15 minutes, there's le Petit Dep on De la Montagne which I find really nice (plus they serve booze so you can meet your date there too!)
Crew's very instagram-ready and is visited by a beautiful crowd, but no windows.
49th Parallel corner of Notre-Dame and McGill might be less claustrophobic...

Thanks so much! Will checkout le Petit Dep. Yeah, Crew felt like that and was a little intimidating to see all the beautiful people haha. Me nowhere close to any of them felt a bit odd lol.
