Hello all,

Untrue. Orr played only 10 years through injuries and was the greatest ever.

Sorry, but it's a very poor comparison despite the common knee injury factor. Orr is still acknowledged by most hockey devotees as the greatest phenom of his sport who ever lived because of his range of unquestionably superb skills in any detail, including decision making...

As for UNDERACHIEVERS:

I feel the need to mention Joe.t Joe.t Joe.t. His sports predictions are legendary for their epic perfection of FAILURE!!! Hence the "Curse of Joe.t". I hear he's now paying off his bookies by taking money from fans NOT to predict on teams. I mean talk about efficiency. Or, maybe that's a reverse form of overachieving. :noidea:

Cheers,

Merlot
Hi all
Hi Merlot
Has for football my knowledge of that era is very blurry but for hockey defensemen sensation Bobby Orr I still do remember is rookie year,
His two Art Ross trophy as NHL scoring Champion and is 8 James Norris trophy as league top defense !
All of this on bad knees !Just imagine a healthy Bobby Orr!
A great player no doubt !!!!
Regards

Top 3 sports guarantees of all time:

1. Namath Guarantee
2. On a live TV interview before the 1999 NCAA Championship game, UConn's Khalid El Amin declares that UConn will "shock the world".
3. Mark Messier guarantees victory in game 7 of 1994 NHL conference finals Rangers vs. Devils.

I found the live TV interview with Bonnie Bernstein in which Khalid El Amin advised her UConn "plans to shock the world". Here it is- go to 45 second mark of video:

Everything El Amin said in that interview came true.

Golf history provides two colossal upsets:
1913 us open, 20-yr old amateur Francis Ouimet, of French Cdn parentage, wins a playoff against two giants, the British pros Ted Ray and Harry Vardon, the Phil & Tiger of the day
1955 us open, again a playoff, this time won by an obscure muni-course pro fron Iowa named Jack Fleck, who defeated Ben Hogan, one of the all-time greats, still close to his peak
