I suspect that there is a bit of a difference between Liberals in Canada and Democrats in the USA. In the USA it is the militant, radical, Feminist on the far left of the Democratic Party that is most vocal about abolishing prostitution. However, I think that the right is very willing to ally themselves with the left on this issue. Politicians on both sides have declared war on Trafficking. Why? Because it virtually does not exist. Problems that do not exist are easiest to solve.
The only recent politician I remember saying that prostitution is nobodies business but the man and woman that enter an agreement was Ron Paul. Sean Hannity is the only member of the media rationalize why a man may want to spend money to visit an escort.
Actually, as a libertarian, I am probably way more liberal than most Dems. I want the government out of my business.
