Any predictions? Can Hammond actually outplay and beat Price? What will that do to Price's magical season?

Hammond! That coule be a bad surprise for the habs ! The sen's fought their way to be in the playoff! The playoff are another season and everything changes ! When the Habs have to scale up their game , they find inspiration and rise above the challenge !
So it's going to be a long 7 games ! Starting this Wednesday!

Last time a habs coach won 50 games ... Was Pat Burns who brought the glorious to the final against the Flames !

This time it could be good !

The Sens have become my favorite team over the past couple of months and it's so damn difficult not to root for them. They came back out of nowhere to squeeze into the playoffs, their GM and assistant coaches are both battling cancer, Erik Karlsson has taken the reigns of this team and he's my pick for the Norris, and their rookies have played great!

The Senators were the last team that the habs wanted to meet in the first round. The Sens have beaten them all season long and have their number.

I have a lot of money riding on this series. A lot. So much that if the Sens lose against the habs, i likely won't be travelling to Montreal this summer. But if i win, not only will i go to Mtl 2 or 3 times this summer, but i'll have won enough money to pay for a trip to Italy. What a summer i'll have if the Sens beat the habs!!

I'm not sure if the Hamburgler will be able to repeat his dominance, but if he doesn't, the Sens have a quality replacement in Craig Anderson, who stoned the habs two years ago. But let's not forget that Carey Price hasn't been sharp over his past dozen games. Yes, he was absolutely fantastic for the most part of the season and will easily win the Vezina and possibly the Hart trophy. But he is quite aware that the Sens are not intimidated by him one bit. And if he falters or gets injured, their backup (Dustin Tockarski) isn't the quality of Ottawa's backup. To put it simply, Tockarski sucks and he's simply not an NHL-calibre goalie. And it's no secret that he will not be back with the team next season.

And how is Max Pacioretty's health? A concussion isn't something to brush aside casually. It's an injury that can alter a player negatively for the rest of his career. Has Andrei Markov played too many games? Will he break if the habs manage to beat the Sens and advance into the playoffs? Will the habs' inept powerplay finally start working? Who will carry the load this season? Will it be Lars Eller once again? Who will take Rene Bourque's spot as the surprise sniper? Will PK start making dumb plays again which will lead to Ottawa goals? Will Galchenyuk finally start playing to his potential, or will he once again disappear? So many questions...........

There's at least 10 slashes like that every game. The only difference is that not everyone dives and acts like they've been shot like Stone did.

I didn't see the game but I heard full details and everyone (outside Montreal) agrees with you. I heard he talked himself out of one penalty only to get tossed later for an even dirtier shot. Same old Subban, when he's not flopping he's trying to get away with being a cheap TERD!

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-p...ing-ottawa-s-mark-stone--video-005751448.html At 0:53 you can see Terdy take a sharp chop at the players wrist or hand. Of course the cover guys in Montreal don't think it was so bad. ;)

PK tsss tss tss if it was the same slash to a habs player I'd would ad called for a suspension ... He will be miss ,tonight 2p .
But I will eat an hamburglar tomorrow with 4 pickles ....
The habs won a fair game and the only way that the Sens could score was on the power play . We saw today what a great team is the Habs , always fighting never give up and ready to make that second effort like Flynn in the superb goal of Eller :)
Smith-Pelley Flynn Mitchell Petry acquired by the DG made a big difference today. 5 on 5 the habs dominated the sens

Its going to repeat on Friday night , Plecky is going to get in the head of Turris , Petry will play with Markov who is getting more and more brains laps ....

This team rises to the challenge and Hammond is going very soon flip some burgers in cheap dive :))

It's playoffs, there are going to be slashes, dirty hits, cross checks, elbows, etc...the problem here is that it was PK and also player 61 looked like he got shot.

Go figure the Sens fans and the Boston fan (hey, they weren't good enough to be there) are the Subban haters :( Did the slash warrant 5 and a game, probably but a suspension.......no way, especially given the fact that Stone was back in the lineup for the next game. If any of you saw the Rangers game where the slash in this video took place you will know that it in my opinion is worse than the slash by PK on Stone. The difference however is that the Ranger player being slashed wasn't a pussy, falling to the ice and rolling around like he had been shot, no, he continued leaving the call up to the ref. The result, a 2 minute penalty, this is the playoffs guys and the game is hockey, a contact sport.

BOYZZZ!

Go figure the Sens fans and the Boston fan (hey, they weren't good enough to be there) are the Subban haters...

One thing I can't stand about all sports fans is they make excuses for anything their team and it's players do. See above. "Haters", why haters. This is a cheap dodge. Subban is a habitual cheap shot artist at least as bad as Marchand. Subban flops, he almost always hits from behind as in this case, he hides from big guys and goes after the rest almost always from the back. Don't make excuses for a guy who frequently acts like a piece of crap.

... but a suspension...no way, especially given the fact that Stone was back in the lineup for the next game...

Baloney excuse.

As for the players receiving cheap shots and still playing the next game your logic implies a guy has to fail to play to prove the severity of the hit and how much penalty is warranted. It's nonsense. It plays into the offender/cheaters purpose. It's a reward. I'm not saying the offender should be suspended. The penalty should reflect the offense, not the health of the player hit hours later. People get up all the time and play after terrible hits, some of them being concussed to various degrees. When they return to play has nothing to do with to degree of the offense, except in more extreme cases. It's what the offense was that counts. If we use your position then players who ruined the careers of others, like Savard, should be banned from hockey for life.

Your problem is if Stone had done it to Subban your view would reverse. Try looking at these episodes honestly. It was a dirty shot from behind. Period! The player recovering from the pain changes nothing.

Cheers,

Merlot

I'd say that Brendan Gallagher is more that type of player you just described. Whenever i hear habs fans whining about Brad Marchand's play, i point out that their very own 'Brendan Gallagher' isn't very much different than Brad Marchand. Both rats who love to instigate, but at least Marchand has offensive skills. I'm not really sure what Brendan Gallagher brings to the team other than constantly nagging the opposing team & taking cheap shots at the opposing goalie.

One of the best feeling when your team reach the 2nd series' round is to hear fans of teams that didn't even manage to reach the playoffs criticzing your team.

Jealousy and bad faith are the best compliments a fan can give to a rival team.

So... Thx guys ! ;)
