Have you ever sent a formal noticed by bailiff?

What steps would you take ?

You can be served for many reasons, I have been sued and have sued people. In both cases you need to serve them notice of a situation or court date. In general, bailiffs are dickless heartless weasels that enjoy their work. It is just best to accept their papers and send them on their way. As long as the papers touch your home or office, you will have been deemed to have been served. They do not have to serve you personally. The court will take the word of the bailiff over your word if you claim you have not been served.

Everything would depend on the reason you have been served. If it is simply to appear in court to answer charges, get a lawyer who specalizes in the reason for going to court, they all have a speciality . If it is for an unpaid ticket, pay the ticket. If it is for a judgement, contact the court and find out how to make this go away $$$$$ Or contact the bailiff and ask them what needs to be done next, they know and will let you know what you have to do next....except in the event of a court appearance.

However I am the one who has given the instructions to have them served and put on noticed .
For not respecting a law biding shareholders agreement and not covering the monthly dividends attach to the preferred shares .
And wanting to sale without proper quorum .

They use every excuse to put you last before their regular law office clients. Same with older bailiffs firms, they could not care less about you. You are just a few extra bucks. Their bread and butter are their regular clients. Usa a small bailiff firm, they are lean and hungry and will do the job quickly and diligently.

Thanks for the tips Simon ,but this occurred in B.C.,and the formal noticed was drafted by a Corporate litigant lawyer ,not myself ,the law firm took care of the bailiff
