During the last few days an important issue has surfaced elsewhere that because of the personalities involved has been trivialized and from all appearances swept aside.
Specifically a question has been raised that a popular, active SP may have CHRONIC MENINGITIS.Under certain circumstances Meningitis could be contagious and fatal.
Now I am not trying to play doctor at the keyboard BUT the board has to address this issue by trying to find answers to the following:
1.) as a community board what responsibilities do we have in such situations?
2.) is it possible to establish a viable disease reporting system while protecting the privacy of all concerned? Clarification of the technical aspects of such an undertaking would be beneficial.
I hope for all concerned that the health of all involved has not been compromised.Perhaps the unfortunate situation will benefit the community
at large.
Thoughtful and responsible posts appreciated.
