Hey guys.

No, this is not as bad as it sounds. I did not run over some guy and then left. I actually hit a stationed car. As stupid as it may sound, I was reversing on a tiny 1 way street while on the phone with loud music blasting in my new car which i wasn't too used to at the time. Reason I was reversing on a 1 way? There was a truck parked on the side and I couldn't go forward as my car was too big and it was blocked by the stupid truck. Well anyway, I pretty much hit the parked car while reversing. I thought no one saw me, I tried to get away but was blocked everywhere. Went to a alley half a block away from the crime scene. Parked my car there, left to go eat dinner then came back and then left after.

Well, I was spotted by someone and they took my license plate down. I got a call like 6 months after to go to the police station in regards to a hit and run. I half admitted hitting the car, but somewhat pretending to be ignorant that I did not know I even hit the car as my car is huge and I just got the car and the music was loud blah blah blah.

But pretty much, I just wanna know if any of you guys know any good firms that can take care of these tickets or do something about it or maybe prolong the court hearing etc etc. I don't really want a LAWYER, as those are REALLY expensive and I don't believe is needed in this situation? I think i'm looking for something more along the lines of a ticket fighting firm/company that has previous experience in this kinda stuff and might be able to do something about this ticket? Let me know.. not in a RUSH, but my court date is in November. :(

Any reference to those ppl or help or professional advice would be kindly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time guys!

How Much?

How much is the fine or are you also being charged under the criminal code and facing the loss of demerit points?

Well, guess what? YOU DESSERVE TO BE PROCECUTED, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!

That's a totally selfish and irresponsible thing you did by leaving without at least a note explaining who you were and how to reach you. If somebody can't even take responsibility for their action about a fender-bender, it shows how much respect that person have for others! Best you can do is admit and take your pill. If you can't do that, you should't be allowed to drive! Too bad the law can't go that far...

A hit and run can be a very serious criminal offense. You should take this very seriously and invest in a good criminal lawyer.

Do you ever want to travel to the USA again, pass a background check, etc? Then hire a lawyer.

PS: Do not, under any circumstance, call up the police officer or prosecutor and attempt to "settle this yourself".

Try finding a lawyer by calling these people: Barreau Reference service.

Metoo4: going in an incall place is also a criminal offence and everyone here know about it and guess what? People still continue to go there... Everyone made mistake... I did a hit a run once on december 23 into mall parking... I guess im not the only one on this board that did it, I also took my car couple time while I was drunk and on drugs and list can goes on... but we all learn from our mistake... My buddy just asked if anyone could help... and from latest news law in Quebec are a big joke overall... unless you have a bad lawyer. I'm not trying to excuse his acts... If I would be the guy that got his car scratched I wouldnt be happy either...

That's not the point!

Going to see a SP is a victim-less crime, as long as we keep our standard away from agencies who are visibly "slave drivers".

I personally been victim of a hit-and-run 3 times in the last few years. Every time, $500 out of my poket (deductible) and now, insurance premium for this type of "accident" went up 20%. Same happened to friends of mine.

Yes, shit happens. I did back-in a car last year. Never saw the car before but certainly noticed while crashing. I did leave my driver's licence number and name to the guy. Cops contacted me and all was setteled with insurance. Not giving the guy too much info prevent the guy to search revenge himself with my personal details.

Today, it ramps-up pretty fast to $1000. One big dent, need painting and parts and there you go. It's not right to have the victim pay the dammages. When it's a hit and run, insurance are not really kind and the victim pays deductible plus, after a few, the premium climbs. The increase don't come as fast and not as strong if the person hitting is known. And me hitting the guy did play a small part in the increase but, the 3 hit and run did a lot more dammage to my premium.

If somebody is a bad driver enough to rake-up enough accidents to make his premium increase noticably, maybe they should consider taking the bus! If somebody consistantly have "minor" accidents of all sorts, they should quit driving. Same if they don't care about other cars around them. Peoples acting like this usually aren't afraid of increase, they just don't give a shit about the others and, that's what piss me off. It's the attitude "Screw you, I'm ok so I don't give a shit." that I hate.

It's all about respect. When somebody who doesn't respect me (situation-wise or actually), that person doesn't desserve my respect either, hence my reply. Sorry.
