Hi all...

Coming up for a little visit. Think I will end up at the Holiday Inn Express on RL. Anyone have any problems with this hotel? SP friendly and the agencies are OK with it?

Thanks

Philly

Yes and Yes. It is one of my favorite hotels in Montreal. Each room is a suite with a separate living area, kitchen and bedroom, some also have balconies that overlook Rene Levesque which I usually request. Very convenient.

I forgot to mention that you also get free local phone calls and free internet as well as continental breakfast downstairs but I'm never up early enough for that.

I agree with Special K... good place, good location, nice people, SP friendly (although I did have a girl followed to my floor one time)... the balconies aren't real balcomies you can go out on... you just open your patio doors...

Other alternative is CandleWood Suites.. same building..... no breakfast but all the rest is the same (rooms too) except they only make up your rooms once a week (which is nice,,, you aren't disturbed) and the rooms are usually cheaper...

There are balconies that you can in fact go out on, I've been out on them many times spying my visitor, they're about 6X3 feet big.

Excellent hotel for the money. Basically it's a condo apartment building with several floors used as hotel rooms. Good location and I love the full galley kitchen with fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker, etc. etc. Reliable internet connection and small but well equipped gym.

Never had a problem with late night "visitors". It really feels more like an apartment than a hotel room. TV's in the living room and bedroom and the rooms I usually get have a terrace you can walk out onto.

No bar and they only serve breakfast but that's not an issue for me.

I'm heading back up to town later this month and I made my reservations yesterday. I think over the past 5 or 6 years this is the only hotel I've used.

I'd sooner shill for this property than for any agency/indie.

I stayed there a few times when it was Hotel Le Faubourg. I thought it was a great hotel with excellent location. I was there right before the transition to Holiday Inn express, and I recall that they were removing the stoves to comply with the franchise rules. I preferred the full kitchen. I recall there were two styles of room, one being a suite with a separate bedroom, and counter with seating between the kitchen and living room, and balcony. The studio style room did not have the balcony, separate bedroom, or counter seating. I can't imagine having a problem with sp's visiting.

This is a really comfortable hotel for long stays with its bedroom, kitchen and balcony in some rooms. Here is a view from my balcony!

PS: Let's not diverge off topic into other discussions. It's only the cleaning lady that comes with the deluxe upgrade. Mods, if that picture is inappropriate, please replace it with this one:

My god! Robin! I've been staying there exclusively for the past 4-5 years and the only amenity I get is an extra towel once in a while.

Maybe an extra pillow now and then.
