The one on the South Shore shut down last summer, what attraction can you offer at Hooters that is not seen on the streets?

I was in the Hooters on Crescent Street once shortly after it opened. The owner had invested heavily in enormous big screen TVs. The restaurant had 3 levels and I ate at a bar on the second level and watched pro tennis. The food was so so, the waitresses were attractive. It was pretty empty and this was a Saturday shortly after opening. I did not think they would last. They overdeveloped the location.

In the states Hooters does well because of location and/or a sporting event. Although the Crescent street location is ideal and they did have on sporting events it still failed. I’ve been to several Hooters across the US and they all seem to do well. Believe it or not, Hooters is considered a family restaurant, so maybe that’s why people go to their locations in the states.

Me personally, if I’m in Montreal I want to go out to bars and restaurants that are regional. I like to try something different. I have been to the Hooters on Crescent, and the food was average at best, the beer was cold and the screens for sports were big enough to watch and enjoy. Service was less than average and the prices were on the high side considering the quality of food you get. Maybe better management, better staff, lower prices, and better marketing will turn this place around if they do come back.

Hooters does not work in Quebec because we have had that style of drinking establishment years before Hooters existed. The first Hooters opened in 1983. I can remember in 1978 when I was underaged and in high school sneaking in with my friends to a brasserie that had waitresses with skimpy outfits that showed 3/4 of her breast but not the nipples and when they walked away their skirts were so short that you could see their lace panties.

Yet there's not a single bar like Hooters that I can think of in Montreal? Not even ones with attractive waitresses like Joey Tomatoes...

I actually live nearby the Hooters in downtown, so I go there once in a while but all in all, the place is alright.

I had a few American tourists come by and had a few drinks with me and they were telling me the Hooters in the United States is way better.

I'll take their word for it since I've never been to an American Hooters

I went to a Hooters in New Hampshire several years ago. The girls were cute, nothing more. The food was lousy. I actually prefer not being sexually stimulated when I am eating lol.
Passed by the one downtown several times over the years when the weather is nice and they have the terrace but never patronized it. I noticed the girls at the Crescent location don't seem to have big hooters.

There is no comparison. The Hooters that was on Crescent Street was a Hooters in name only. The girls were hideous, the service poor and the food underwhelming. I actually walked out one time while I waited for my food for close to an hour. I paid for my beers and left. It was just a disgrace. Embarrassing. I knew the place wouldn’t last my first visit.

Nothing compares to the Hooters in Florida, particularly Tampa and Clearwater. I’ve been to the original in Clearwater dozens of times, most recently Im Dec after the Bucs Bills game. My buddy has Bucs season tickets so Hooters is a staple every trip. The Hooters on Hillsboroigh in Tampa is awesome as well.

Here in NJ the Hooters in East Brunswick isn’t bad (it’s not a FL Hooters), nor is the restaurant near Princeton. The Hooters in NYC I believe is still closed. Haven’t been there since before Covid.

A co-worker told me more or less that he had a similar experience at the Montreal Hooters. It does not exactly have a sterling reputation. From what I gather the staff doesn't seem to care much about the patrons.

I was walking around downtown and I noticed Hooters was open. I am pretty sure it was closed but I looked at their social media page and they mention new ownership and new management. Has anyone been there since the new management?

Been there a few times watching the hockey games while eating wings. Dunno about the new management but the staffs are friendly and most of the girls are good looking as you should expect at Hooters. Nothing to complain about. My only comparison is the Hooters from downtown Toronto and it’s pretty much the same imo.

If you’re craving for chicken wings and cute girls in orange shorts, it’s the place to go.

On their website, one of their daily special is kids eat for free un Sunday. When I saw that, I was like "who brings kids to Hooters?"
I went to Hooters in Mexico and they do they Wedding anniversary at the hooters with the whole family!

I’ve often thought the same exact thing. Believe it or not, Hooters is considered a family restaurant.
