Hotel for outcalls

I'll be staying at a small hotel in downtown Montreal, it only has 25 rooms.

My question is whether all hotels welcome providers, or will I be charged a guest fee? Do I come out and just ask (and take the risk of being kicked out) or just find out at the end when I get a bill at check-out?

Any advice is most welcome.

Most hotels allow for 2 guests overnight without extra charges. There's never extra charges for visitors who don't stay there overnight. And after all, who will tell she's not your sister, niece, coworker, boss... Hotels will either flat-out refuse her access if they have strong suspicion why she's there and don't agree but, most likely, they'll look elsewhere: discretion is one key point for them.
