They Hyatt, but I don't think the pool is open 24 hours a day.

If only I knew...
Residence Inn Westmount. Pool open between 06:00 and 23:00 if I remember.

As far as I know, in most hotels the pool is closed for a few hours at night, to allow maintenance and to avoid problems with peoples who party too hard.

Holiday Inn Midtown Sherbrooke

The Holiday Inn Midtown on Sherbrooke has what its website claims is the largest indoor pool in Montreal. I stayed there last September and enjoyed the pool every day. I found the pool water clean but the there was some discoloration of the tiles on the walls above the pool water, which I thought could be cleaned. A lifeguard was on duty at all times, in case you are totally out of shape and suffer a heart attack after swimming 2 laps.

The hotel is otherwise average and of 2.5 star quality- see my review in the hotel thread, from last September. I got it as a 3 star on Priceline. As I recall I met Techman at the hotel at that time and showed him the pool, so he can give you his take as well. Here is a pic of the pool:

Here is what their website says:

"Our newly renovated Holiday Inn Montreal Midtown hotel offers our guests deluxe Montreal accommodations with free high-speed, wireless Internet access and the largest indoor, heated pool in the city."

Hilton Garden Inn on Sherbrook just down from the Holiday Inn had a great pool/gym area on the top floor. Its not 24 hours. The hot tub is nice to take a date to chill out for a bit, in my experience. Its a key elevator which can be somewhat of a challenge imo.

The Sheraton had a decent pool, and next to the hot tub are his/hers sauna I believe, if you like things hot.

The Hilton Bonaventure has a kewl indoor/outdoor pool.

The hours are not the best... and the hotel itself reminds me of a dingy rat maze. By the time I get to the room I always feel like there should be some cheddar waiting for me!

I remember that the pool was quite large and there was a hot tub at one end, about 20 feet or so from the pool itself. There was also an exercise room on the level overlooking the pool. The pool seemed to be a good size for anyone wanting to do laps.

Seeing as how check in at hotels is usually at 3 do you think I would be

allowed to use the pool if I register for my room but its not check in time yet?

Good question, answer is it probably depends on the hotel. They will want to take your credit card info probably before they give you pool access, in case you decide to be a towel thief.

Let me tell you what happened to me at the Holiday Inn. After I checked in, I went up to my room and changed into my bathing suit, went swimming and then I realized I had left my room key in my room. I was forced to go down to the lobby dripping wet in my bathing suit with a towel wrapped around me (not as bad as locking myself out of my room in my underwear at the Delta, but still very embarrassing).

I asked the front desk for another key, and gave them my room number. They told me they could not give me another key without photo ID. I then explained I had left my wallet and ID in my room while I went for a swim. They then told me I would have to wait for a security guard to come up and meet me at my room. It was suggested to me that rather than standing around the lobby in my bathing suit and dripping water on the floor of the lobby, I should go up to my room and wait for the security guard in front of the door. The security guard then came less than 5 minutes later, opened up my room and when I showed him my ID, he left me alone.

I would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn Midtown for the pool, but it is not a nice hotel. Very average 2.5 star type accomodations. However, the pool was not only big, but also there were only a few other people in it and I was able to swim laps unimpeded for 45 minutes, on 3 different days. I don't know what the hours are but I took my swims late afternoons, before getting ready for dinner. I love a good long swim before dinner.
