Not just Breast Cancer, but Prostate Cancer, Leukemia, etc...?

My focus is definitely Breast Cancer, as I have had family members who have passed due to the disease. I make donations, I do walks (sorry, I am not a runner!), I buy Think Pink products and do my best to participate and be generous whenever an activity comes along. My favorite time comes when it is the anniversary of my mothers death in July, when I get clients to donate the time we spend together to the Canadian or American Cancer Foundation... it makes a challenging time of the the year much easier when I receive tons of letters from the various foundations, letting me know that a donation has been made in my mothers name.

How do you help out?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month http://www.cancer.ca/ccs/survey/P5F...__langId-en,00.html&site=1&lang=EN&log=140444

I donate to the hospitals and put a little towards their cancer research funding, without them I probably wouldn't be around.

Breast cancer research is the single and only charity that I donate to...specifically, the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Toronto. My godmother was treated there as a patient...and they are great!

It's nice to know when the cure is found, it will come from this foundation and their new research centre...Dr. Tak Mak kicks ass!!

Anik,

Thank you for reminding everyone that they can help fight cancer. Unfortunately I've lost family members due to different forms of cancer, and I'm a survivor. Whether you walk, run, volunteer or donate, every little bit helps.

One of my best friends lost her Mom last week to breast cancer and I just donated to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in her memory.

Regards,

Voyager

As an extension of this - let's not forget about

taking steps to prevent Cancer for ourselves.

Lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, reducing your alcohol consumption (no, don't worry, a little alcohol is actually quite good for you), adding fibre, reducing stress, going for regular check-ups... etc.

Be aware of your body (this is where touching yourself often is VERY useful!) - any changes in your skin, contours, texture, moles, hair (heavier hair, no hair where there was hair before), check it all out. We are very fortunate to live in Canada where getting regular check-ups will cost you a minimal amount... take advantage of it (in a good way). Early detection of any health threat is your number one defense.

You're forgetting taking vitamin, mineral and amino acid supplements.
Also if you dont eat well (like me) you can take this called Primary Greens, its a powder that contains all the active ingredients from all of natures vegetables and fruits:
