I took a 2-3 years break because I needed to focus on something else. I don't remember if I announced a retirement.


Most will retire when they've reached their financial goal, when they graduate therefore starting their actual career or when they have enough money to invest in a different project. Some will never retire because it's hard for them to have a regular job.

Haha that's why I will never announce it. How do I know I won't come back. I think it makes sense that some choose to announce it, as id imagine it's a good move financially. It's weird that we call it retiring when it's just moving on to something new, which everyone does at some point in any career/profession.

I took a break for a few years because I moved back to Quebec, wanted to do something different. I was worried about having been away from civ work for a long time and didn't want the gap in my resume to get longer.

I had no idea I'd come back, didn't really ask myself because you don't know how you'll feel in a few years. I did only civ work for a while, eventually it gets really boring (for me anyway) so I added some extra spice evenings and weekends. I missed it.

The answer is all of the above and probably many other reasons. Everyone is different. One that is common that was missed in your poll is "meeting someone/getting married". You could probably add "getting outed" too. Some of your choices are pretty funny, though.

When there are no bookings. Usually it means they have exhausted their supply of clients. Age has nothing to do with retirement in the biz. Years ago I knew a girl that got really popular here in MERB. She was early 20s and had the look that clients wanted. She got arrogant, did not take care of herself and started to gained 20 kg. Her clients were no longer interested in paying a premium for inferior service. She was gone before she was 30 years old.

On the other hand I know a lady that was near 50, she her prices was less than half the younger girl and she offered more than most ladies. She had a good personality and every event was pleasant.

If you think this job is simple, you are mistaken.All of these symptoms could lead to the retirement of a service provider.It's a very sensitive subject that people and even service providers avoid discussing, and many service providers I know have retired due to mental health issues.That is the primary reason why, after experiencing mental health issues, service providers will contact merb and request no review policies in order to avoid being reminded of their past. It is a step toward resolving mental health issues.I know many of you will disagree, but it is a fact among service providers.

I think when the job start to hate of the job ...or make mental issue.. I have few friends of 50-60 years and they make very well.. better I get old better my customer are and so many repeat .. duo repeat aswell *** I did a lot duo webcam with my 60 years old friend ...

sometimes it is also none of the above, on the poll. given a break of time, ie: the pandemic.... a forced time away from this, they can't get back into this mode to continue this work despite the money.

Small sample size here but I'm also confirming that this is true.

This is especially important when trying to establish comfort - I always ask if there's any topics I should avoid, not just service restrictions
