Again, if you state that you only visit hotels or motels, you can avoid fake calls because you will ask him to call you from the room and you can call him right back to verify he is there.

You have a simplistic view on things... I know of one gent who will call several SPs to his place in the West Island and the first one there gets the rendez-vous. He will answer the phone and if not in the middle of "doing it" will turn them away at the door.

I know of another one who does a similar thing from his hotel room.

Even if we take all the precautions and don't leave, we still end up with no work when we were expecting to because this happens mostly when they make an advance booking... so lets say a date is booked 2 days in advance, a last minute cancellation or no-show means we refused other work for this some chump who never showed up and failed to cancel the same day or even confirmed the same day...

Remember most indy's are not working from last minute calls, agencies get more of those...

I find it is a growing concern for the girls getting fake calls or simply giving false information. I once knocked on the door at a hotel and the guy said he never booked me. The agency called his cell phone and he never anwered.

Never understood how someone could get kicks out of standing up an SP. If it was a first timer who got cold feet its simple enough to call and cancel. I've called hours in advance to cancel. One time I didnt have a number so I e-mailed the night before the encounter. A crisis emerged at work that needed my attention and I spent the rest of my time in Montreal working on my laptop and caught up in conference calls. The next time I was in Montreal I saw that SP and brought a small gift to say sorry.

As for being stood up, an agency once didn't sent a lady over. I waited about 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours before I called and I got the standard "she turned off her cell phone and I cant reach her" excuse. Never booked with that agency again. I ended up booking with someone else, and I had a fantastic time. I've long since learned to not get frustrated over things I can't control.

I guess I could have had worse luck, but the MERB community does a great job of alerting people when a problem arises.
