I'm wondering how often real life rears its ugly head and forces you to cancel a SP appointment?
is it 1 in 5 ?
1 in 20 ?
For me it happens about 10% of the time. For sure it all depends on your type of work, kids etc....
I'm just curious because i feel terrible each time i have to

Very rare. I cancelled maybe two times out of 100 appointments. Both times because I felt very sick (both were booked several days in advance)

I have never ever cancelled a same day appointment

Having many health issues, at times I need to cancel at last minute or reschedule. The ladies know when I write to them and some understand and some get mad, but I am always wanting to meet another day. I would say 15%.

Only twice in some 15 years, one time 48 hrs ahead and second time last minute with a regular, she didnt made any fuss or bad comments, she knows I had a real reason.

I have never canceled an appointment. I usually book the same morning or maximum 24 hours in advance. the advantage is that I am better able to organize my schedule. the downside is that I have less choice.

I cancelled a few times with very valid reasons & it was never at the last minute & always with plenty of time for them to make up the appointment.

But the last time I cancelled it was somewhat out of spite. It was with an indy who had already cancelled on me twice & always at the last minute. So one day i wanted to give her a piece of her own medecine so I cancelled with her at the last minute. She texted me an update to tell me that she was on her way & that she’d be at my door in about 15-20 minutes. I waited 5 minutes & texted her that something had just come up & unfortunately i felt absolutely terrible that i had to cancel our appointment, which i had really been looking forward to. She tried calling me a couple of times & i didn’t answer. She left a voice message & wasn’t please. She also didn’t seem too pleased in her text message. I felt like texting back “sucks when people cancel on you at the last minute, right?” But i didn’t. I’m a gentleman, after all.
That's being a little petty but you did make me smile reading this. I used to be like you.

I have never cancelled in the past couple of years and I hobby regularly. I’ve been somewhat lucky in that so far nothing came up on the same day (not feeling well, a last minute appointment, etc). But I also plan well, book 1-2 days in advance and take advantage of my flexible work schedule.

It’s probably not sustainable, but if/when I have to cancel in the future, I’ll try to let them know in advance (a day before).

One thing I omitted to say was that she had a reputation of doing this. After she canceled on me the first time i found out that she had a knack of canceling on other people. So the second time she canceled on me I wasn’t too surprised. But i was still pissed. I figured that if she couldn’t hack working as an indy then she should go back the agency route. Over the years i’ve met more girls that were great working for an agency but a disaster as independents. They simply didn’t have the discipline & organizational skills required to be successful on their own.

I’ve only canceled a couple times across perhaps 200 appointments. And am more inclined to book same day appointments to avoid cancellations.

There is a popular national EE agency in the US that I once booked as soon as a popular girl popped up on schedule that I then needed to cancel a week before appointment.

Overall, I’ve been canceled on 20x more than I’ve canceled. It’s impossible to know what life will throw your way in a week from now.

From my own perspective, there is a higher chance to be cancelled when you book the last appointment . We try to stick to our schedule as much as possible but accidents happen occasionally.
Most of us chose to give great service or not working at all. A lot of things can happen during the day. If we are too tired, got sick, the client before was mean etc… to make us cancel the rest of the day.
I think the clients would also prefer us at our best.
I hope this can help

This is definitely true. A lot of times, my ATFs, who I know are not flakey, has cancelled many times when I was their last appointment due to same reasons: getting too tired or having a bad client earlier.

In 13+ years and over 100 bookings i canceled twice that i recall of. Once was 24h+ in advance with an indy. I honestly can't recall the reason. But i remember she eventually worked at Xo and i saw her and it was great. She took it nicely.

Other one was with Hanna at Xo (Sasha Johanssen). Was our third meeting and was sooo looking into it. I was in town for a metal show with a friend and i wanted to see her in the afternoon before the show but my friend threw me a temper tantrum.

I told him in the morning i was gonna see her at x time and he got so pissed. Stuff like "f*ck off you not gonna let me alone in Montreal while you f$#& a prostitute". Well lets just say he did not had the same view as i did on the business.

He litteraly said he would not go to the show if i did my booking. So it was either going to the show alone and litteraly jeopardizing my relation with him or going forward with the booking.

So i called Unicorn and apologized and explained the situation. Jasmine/Melody was super cool and allowed me to reschedule the next morning before 11 to fit my hotel. Basically i had to extra pay a an hotel just because my friend acted like a baby not being ok to spend 1h without me in Montreal. His sister was gonna pick us both after the show to drive us back home but i rented an hotel to spend the night in Montreal so i could see Hanna the next day.

My friend never felt bad or cared that he made me wasted 100$ or so. Even today its still something that i rethink about but we rarely see each other anymore. He used to be what i would consider my "best friend" to more of an aquintance now. We don't share as much anymore.

But yeah basically cancellation rarely happen with me.

Did it three times. One was with Serena of the Courtesans because I wanted to see some girl at Eleganza and she was available. The other was Michelle of MSC because she was not my type. The third was Michelle Luv as I just forgot we had a dinner engagement because I just moved back for the summer to Montreal and had a date with a civilian girl I met at the gym.

Only once with Lana Red. There was a valid reason and she understood because before that I saw her few times.

So far, no. But I would if I was sick like flu, covid or an extraordinary unexpected situation I have to deal urgently with. Just like I would prefer an SP to cancel and completely understand. For me, it is part of being respectful.
