If prostitution is legal in Canada, why call your pay for sex a 'donation'?

For the same reason that asswipes are called "toilet tissue".

And I still think ``donation`` sounds less like ``merchandise`` or ``product``.

Thinking about it, if we`d write ``price``, maybe we could charge by the pound instead of service...

I was still kidding, but now, seriously, the thing is the use of others words is to be sure to be in law..... because it's seems that the law in Canada is a matter of fact of the use of the bad or right words sometimes... Nobody wants problems, so, we are all doing what it taked to avoid them. and, in facts.... When you call for having the company of an escort, you are not 100% sure to have sex.... some could confirm it, I assure you....
Actually, all of that crap is taken from american escort sites where prostitution is illegal, and I can promise you all the language play doesn't protect anyone from a bust.
The money given to a girl is not a donation, even if it sounds nice:

Maybe the johns prefer calling it a donation instead of a 'fee' in order to justify to themselves the fact they have to pay someone in order to get laid?
Also the fact that in the case of an agency girl, part of the money given to the girl goes to either a pimp or an agency owner. And a driver. So calling it a 'donation' might appear to be less obvious that they're giving money to someone 'other than the sp' for her to have sexual relations with him. I believe that making money 'off someone else' prostituting themselves is illegal in Canada.
Heck, this thread just gave me a couple of ideas. Why don't we start other threads that ask:

or....

My answer to all of that, Doc, is politeness.
In a nasty biz, everyone, including the "johns" want to be reffered to in respectful terms.
I have never even used the term "john" in reference to a client, exept if they gave me the name John, but I have called my self a "hooker".
All terms are, I think, appropriate, it is just somethings sound classier than others, yet have the same meaning.

Carefull, you might give the SP's an idea. There might be a basis on the SP side to start charging by the weight of the client. Out of shape guys would have to pay an excess baggage charge....*LOL

The terminology which has been traditionally used (Johns, hooker, trick etc.) are simply catchwords which somebody along the way arbitrarily applied. They were born in a social climate which disapproved strongly of prostitution and those derogatory terms were chosen to reflect that disapproval. As the social climate in which we live has become more enlightened and moved towards tolerance of many concepts which were frowned upon in the past, the terminology has evolved as well. Hence terms like "escort", "client" etc. I see no reason to continue the use of disrespectful terminology in today's more liberal climate and certainly not on this board.
