Sorry to say, but that is a bad analogy. An aged single-malt scotch, such as a 25 yo Macallan can’t be compared with a “regular” 12 yo bottle. They are sitting in the cask for many more years and are worth more just based on that. As we say, time is money. The complexity of the flavors are exponential. It is a superior product.You can say that about any luxury good. Is an aged Macallan really worth $500 a serving? Does a Birkin provide 30x more value than a normal bag? Probably not, but the buyer is getting additional value beyond their basic need. It might come across as pretentious but at those level you are paying a premium for the increasing diminishing returns.
As for the “high-end” escort, it’s purely about marketing, in my opinion. The quality has nothing to do with the price. Similar to the Birkin.
