Hsv 1 (oral herpes) exceedingly common, hsv 2 less so.
Hpv very common and many different strains, some which impart higher odds for cancer and some that don't, some that cause warts and some that don't.

All of these can be spread by asymptomatic carriers , i.e. they look normal but have asymptomatic viral shedding. Examining a partners genitals does not totally eradicate odds of tranmission.

Source i read claims most transmission is by asymptomatic carriers.

This trade/ hobby is not for anyone who wants zero risk, but then again such a person should probably just stick to masturbating as any of these viruses have a reasonable chance of being contracted from someone not involved with sex work.
Correct. Mucous doesn't require sex. Kissing will do.

It depends on the person and their sexual practices more than their job. If your next gf has raw sex with a new guy every week, she's probably more likely to have caught something than an escort who sees 10 guys a week and uses protection, even if she works an office job for example.
you're right in that it depends on the person. my gf could never be someone who has raw sex with a new guy not every week, but even every year. depends who you associate with and what your standards are. so the risk profile does multiply when a person like me engages in intimacy with a sex worker vs. a sexual partner who fits their usual profile

I get tested every month or every 3 weeks. I take calculated risks but I take my health very seriously. Unfortunately in this business when you're a gfe or pse providers you are expected to offer services that are not safe. My way of dealing with this risk is to have a maximum of clients I see every week, and I trust my clients to get tested. A lot of my clients don't see a ton of SP's or women generally. I don't personally have multiple partners in my personal life. I'm pretty monogamous and I don't really like dating much. I'm honestly more afraid of getting a STI from a random one night stand than a client, and that isn't something I'm into anyways.

What I like to remind clients is that it's your choice to ask for unsafe services. I make a choice to offer bbbj and cim and daty, but my clients don't have to ask for it. I've had clients ask for cbj before.

I understand that but condoms only really protect females from hpv and herpes. the protection they give to males is very minimal

I used to think like you, but guess what, after 7 years of seeing escorts with 100% condom use for intercourse and near 0% for bj, I've been testing regularly and never caught an STI. I've also never had hpv or herpes symptoms (these two are not part of routine sti screening). We can never generalize from a single case, but food for thought.

I was vaccinated with Gardasil 9 shortly after I became sexually active. For herpes, I am reassured that if I ever were to catch it, the vast majority of people only have a single outbreak, or show no symptoms at all. If I was one of the unlucky few to have recurring outbreaks (most of them are women), I could take a daily dose of valacyclovir to greatly diminish (or abolish) my symptoms. This may sound funny, but with the positions I chose, I also tend to limit skin to skin contact in the genital area.
