I went to have dinner at St Ambroise Terasse on the canal tonight with a friend & sitting at the table adjacent to ours was 2 hot ladies, who were deep in their conversation, so neither one of them got distracted by the Bela Lugosi death-love stare, as shijak so deftly described it.

So yours truly had to resort to some other course of action. My intuition told me that one of these 2 lovely ladies was possibly an SP based on what these old ears overheard but still I wasn't sure exactly what I heard, clients, etc , so I went with it.

I started a conversation with my friend about the escort biz explaining about this agency & that agency & board handles, all this time just loud enough so that they could hear what was being said.

Almost from the very first mention of a certain agency as well as each other one that I called out, one of the ladies looked up immediately & now finally she took notice of anyone else sitting there in the place.

Now that I've got her attention, what happens, they leave immediately & neither of us notice when exactly they left.

The one that was clearly an SP was about 5'6" straight long blond hair (3" past her shoulders), never saw her eye colour, she was wearing a blue & white top & white skirt (quite short) & an anklet on her left ankle. They were French speaking & about 26 yrs old

Even though we were sitting next to the canal on a nice quiet summer evening, no spandex was to be seen

Sorry, that was an elf sighting I was referring to!

I think you may have just increased the number of merbites that will be checking out the St.Ambroise Terrasse.:p If you figure them to be around 26, that means that an agency will say they're 21 to 23...

So does the description ring any bells for anyone?

Ladies, are you reading this post?

I think we should have baseball caps made up. That way we can hide our identity when out in public:cool: Especially when worn with a pair of shades.

a related question...

Your story brings to mind an interesting scenario. Having been previously employed at a job that required me to travel approximately 40 weeks per year, I've spent my share of time in hotel lobbies, lounges and bars. I've also seen more than my share of young, attractive women who would arrive at (or leave from) hotels on the hour, unaccompanied and often "dressed the part" of a SP.

I'm wondering if any other MERBites have either been in a hotel lounge/bar and seen a girl emerge from an elevator that you were sure (or at least reasonably sure) was a SP. And if so, have you ever approached her? Obviously, this situation would require a degree of tact (e.g. offering to buy her a drink as opposed to propositioning her outright). I've been very tempted on a couple of occasions, but have never gone through it with due to various obstacles (more often than not, my own lack of courage, LOL).

Many times, especially at the Hyatt near the room elevators. Special K previously posted about having seen and approached an SP at the Hotel Intercontintental some years ago:

https://merb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3469&highlight=intercontinental

All you really need to do is approach her and say, "are you working?" And after you get the affirmative response, you ask, "which agency?" I believe SL speaks a bit of French, and it is not clear to me why he did not attempt this approach.

The day of the World Cup quarterfinal match between Germany and Argentina, while walking down St. Catherine Street, I saw an HDH escort whom I met last winter. She was with another guy, who could have been a client but more likely was her boyfriend. She looked at me and I am pretty certain she recognized me. There was a brief eye contact between us and that was it.

Even though I was talking about the escort biz with my dinner companion, it would have been inappropriate to have made any approach.

I suppose under these circumstances it would have been inappropriate. However, under circumstances set forth by Special K in the link I posted above, or if, for example, one is at the Chablis or some other lodging establishment and sees an SP in an area where she can be approached and a conversation started with her in a discreet manner, a different, more aggressive approach, as I have outlined, would be called for. Some guys have the requisite appearance and smoothness of delivery to be able to pull this off. Others do not, and might reasonably expect to be slapped or struck with SP handbag/purse. It's all in the delivery and the approach. A trial attorney knows that with certain juries he will have to talk in a certain way in order to establish a connection. Similarly here in this situation, information must be processed rapidly and an approach developed sometimes in a matter of seconds. Does she speak English? Will she undertand my verbiage? Even more important is tone of voice and demeanor, than how the actual questions are phrased. Even a weak English speaker will understand the question, "are you working?" However it must be asked in a calm and quiet manner with just a slight air of curiousity, otherwise bad vibes will be sent. Some guys who are big and intimidating and/or guys with loud voices and are generally unsophisticated type individuals, will never be able to pull this off. I think it is easier if you are well dressed, not large or physically intimidating, and speak in a softer tone of voice. Also, never act TOO interested as that will send bad vibes. Remember: slight air of curiousity.

EB,

In those situations, asking the simple question of "what agency?" or "quelle agence?" is all that's needed.

A non working lady will not know what you're talking/asking about & therefore no insult will be knowingly received & in that case it's easy to walk away expressing your quick regret saying you're sorry.

Asking if she is working, might very well be understood by a non SP.

If she acts offended and you realize she is a non-SP, you say, "oh, I meant at the hotel."

Let's face it SL, some guys can think on their feet and some can't. My approach is not recommended to those who bumble and stumble and can't think on their feet.

A while ago i was on my way to a appointment with a sp at Le Chablis and as i went up to the front desk to arrange for a room there was a sp who was standing in the hallway who just had finished with a client and was waiting for her driver approached me and gave me her number and asked me to call her, when the lady who worked the front desk saw that she became angry and refused to give me a room and asked me to leave, we then got into a big argument as i refused to leave untill she gave me a room, she eventually gave me a room and apologized for her stupidity, i think that they should get a man to work the front desk at Le Chablis because i have never seen any of the girls that work there smile and they seem to always be in a bad mood, jealousy perhaps.

Starbuck,

This lady is probably making $6.00 an hour working at that front desk and all night long she sees great looking women walking by her counting hundred dollar bills so of course jealousy is going to set in. I agree that only males should be allowed to work the front desk at that hotel, or if they hire a woman she should be made to understand that basically a large portion of guests are there for one reason only, which is to pay to have sex.

As I have also asked, "are you working" & it's been understood by the quick witted woman who has been around & thus caused an unnecessary tension.

Possibly, but I submit that tension could be alleviated quickly if you ask the right follow up questions or make an appropriate explanatory statement as I have outlined.

I think "what agency", if asked to the quick witted woman, is way too direct. I prefer my approach. Of course it depends on the read you make on the lady. It's like an NFL QB reading the opponent's defense. You must read her level of intelligence and linguistic ability and you must do so in seconds. Some process this information quickly, some slowly, and some not at all.

EB,

I have approached a few SP's with both approaches & as a result this is the one that causes no understanding by a non SP as to what you're talking about.

A non SP doesn't know that you're referring to an escort agency as it could very well be any type of agency in a hotel lobby or elevator.

There are many non SP women who know what it means when asked "are you working?"

With the question, "what agency?" there is no need for any follow up as the very question will be understood (by an SP) or not (by a non SP)
