Is a male - female friendship possible???

Can members of the opposite sex be friends without one or the other member eventually wanting more out of the friendship provided either member is not gay or a lesbian.

My opinion is that it is not possible. One or the other member will eventually want something more out of the friendship whether they want to admit it or not.

It helps if the male is gay...now that the concept of fuckfriends is becoming more and more acceptable I would say yes,but still I know some men who flatly refuse to consider a friendship if there is no sex element...

Maybe it's just me but the only reason I would get friendly with a girl is if I wanted something from her.

It's definitely possible. I have 3 very close women friends whom I care for a great deal. We've never considered taking our friendship to another level. Personally, I wouldn't even be able to. It would be too weird.

And no. I'm not gay.

I think when you are younger, it's difficult because the small head usually wins out. As you get older and more mature you also hopefully evolve so you CAN have friendships with women. When I hit my mid thirties this became more of a reality but there is one caveat. If either person is physically attracted to the other I don't think a friendship alone is possible, the other person will always want to explore the next level. I have 3 close female friends and for me the only way these realtionships succeed is that I am not attracted to any one of them. In fact, I have ended 2 friend relationships because I felt something that was not reciprocated. I also think women can accept these relationships much easier than men as physical aspects of a relationship are more important to men. Just my 2 cents.
