Well that coup was over pretty quick.

The head of Wagner decided to recall his forces back to their base and now he's getting retirement in Belarus. No charges, everything is alright.

Except for the 2 helicopters that Wagner shot out of the sky.

WAGNER ne sera plus jamais en sécurité nulle part dans le monde....devra se méfier toujours de son entourage...sa tête est mise à haut prix.....et n'a que lui à blâmer....

It ain`t over yet. Lots of shit behind the scenes that nobody including the Russians know about.
Lots of windows that people can fall out of in Russia.

Speculation:

In the best gangland tradition, both sides went for hostages.

Prigozin missed his chance with Gerasimov at Rostov, but the FSB picked-up the easy pieces that are ranking Wagner family members.

And/or, with no cadres from the army and security services going over to Wagner as they approached Moscow, Prigozin then had no choice but to fold his cards ...

Likely, he'll never be seen again.

"Mercenaries from PMC "Wagner" were moved to Belarus to attack Poland and seize the Suwalki corridor, Russian MP Kartapolov reveals Putin's brilliant plan"

Propaganda or not... Poland definitly starting to feel the heat

Would NATO interviene and against who ?
Against Belarus from where the attack was conducted ?

All Canadian news has been sensored.
I dont listen to TV news anymore, especially CBC it is the state media, and they will not tell you the full story.
If you listen to France 24, it said that Washington knew this before hand, and will not sensor the leaders of the Wagner's group anymore.
Now you have the answer.

My take is that NATO forces would enter Poland and help defend them on their territory.
Poland because of its difficult historic relation with Russia or its proxy Belarus is one of Nato most pro-active country: 4.3% of annual GDP for defence in 2023. Their level of prepardness and willingness to defend their country is much higher than for example a sleepy Germany.
Nato force are already in Poland (10k americans). IMO, it is unlikely that such a scenario unfolds, but Article 5 would be immediately put in force the moment any hostile armed forces cross the border. 2 years ago that might have been a different story, but I don't think that right now Nato nor Poland woul be caught with its pants down..;)

Does anyone actually take Russian state media seriously?

Ours maybe be bad (cf. CBC Newsworld and their frequently infurating coverage of the truckers in Ottawa), but not quite as unremittingly propagandistic as that ....

I watch France 24 too, but it is quite literally "state media".

Not a fan of Trump, but he probably understands better than most that their is no likely clear winner in this war.

Like most wars, there is a winner but at what cost.
You know that the Korean war never ended, no winner there.

Except that South Korea has clearly won the peace, such as it is ...

South Korea may be Ukraine's model for the future, so long as it doesn't get trapped in this interminable conflict.
