Joe Biden a good President

Joe has successfully undone a lot of the disasters that Trump caused but Trump's train wreck of a presidency caused SO many problems and the corrupt GOP have created SO many roadblocks during their everpresent quest to destroy democracy that sadly many Trump-initiated disasters still remain.

Contrary to the nonsense spouted in the post directly above, Trump was the sole cause of this recent banking issue. He laid the course for the disaster by deregulating banks...just as he laid the course for the recent rail disaster by deregulating that industry. As always, the loathsome and useless Republicans create problems that are not solved until Democrats take power and undo the damage...just as Biden's team has done and just as Obama's team did before the Hellish years of the Trump presidency..

Joe might be getting on in years (just like Donnie and his tiny hands) and has always made some verbal gaffes even when younger but at least he's a decent human being who surrounds himself with a good trustworthy team working FOR the American people rather than trying to turn the nation into a fascist dictatorship like the dirtbag GOP and that POS Trump so beloved by 70 million Magamorons. Thankfully there were seventy-SEVEN million Americans intelligent enough to realize that Trump was the problem and Biden was the solution, so the Magamorons failed. Their loss was America's gain: a productive and effective governance by Biden's team that continues to this day despite the constant GOP efforts to impede any and all progress..

Joe Biden announced he's running for re-election today...while Trump, his likely opponent, is facing his first day in court in a civil RAPE case. How are those 2 even in the same sentence?

In two years Biden has increased the cost of living by 15%. In other words, the average annual inflation rate under Biden is 7.5%.

President Joe Biden and his many defenders have a penchant for blaming the many catastrophes that have happened on his watch on somebody or something else. Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, China, the Taliban, MAGA Republicans and greedy corporations. Take your pick.

According to the commander in chief, he bears no responsibility for the past 26 months.

The buck apparently doesn’t stop in the Biden Oval Office.

But when it comes to the economy, and, in particular, inflation, Biden can’t run away from reality. According to the Winston Group’s “Winning the Issues” survey (conducted March 1-3), 54 percent of people believe “Government policies under President Biden and Democrats in Congress have caused inflation to increase and prices to go up,” while only 30 percent didn’t believe that statement.

But Biden keeps trying to sell his economic policies as successful to an increasingly skeptical public. On Tuesday, he tried to sugarcoat the 6 percent Consumer Price Index number in a White House statement without mentioning the actual number.

“Today’s report shows annual inflation is down by a third from this summer at a time when the unemployment rate remains near a 50-year low. That is the slowest annual increase since September 2021. I will continue working to lower costs for hard-working Americans so they have a little more breathing room at the end of the month,” the president said in a statement.

Technically, inflation has come down — going from a 40-year high of 9 percent down to 6 percent. That is roughly a third, but wages aren’t keeping up, and people are certainly not breathing easier.

With the president and his team spinning the CPI numbers, perhaps it’s time for a different statistical take on his “progress” — by looking at the CPI not just month-to-month or even year-over-year but through a kind of data-based “report card,” what we call the “Presidential Inflation Rate,” or PIR.

This new way of looking at inflation is based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ price index, the basis for the monthly CPI report...

According to surveys by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center, Americans have NO confidence in Biden:

no confidence.jpg

...Public confidence in Biden on several issues remains low

Majorities of Americans continue to express skepticism in Biden’s ability to handle a number of issues, including international crises and economic policy.

About two-thirds of Americans say they are not too or not at all confident in Biden to make wise decisions about immigration policy (65%) or to deal effectively with China (65%). Nearly as many express low levels of confidence in him to work effectively with Congress (62%), to make good decisions about economic policy (61%) or to handle an international crisis (60%).

Of the six dimensions asked about in the survey, the public is most confident in Biden to respond effectively to a natural disaster: 50% say they are at least somewhat confident in Biden’s ability to do this, while about the same share (49%) say they are not too or not at all confident.

Public confidence in Biden to make good economic decisions, to handle an international crisis and to work effectively with Congress are essentially unchanged since July 2022, while confidence in him on immigration has dropped (from 39% then to 34% now), as has confidence in him to deal effectively with China (from 38% to 34%).

At least six-in-ten Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents continue to express confidence in Biden on all six issues asked about in the survey.

By contrast, Republicans and Republican leaners continue to express low confidence in Biden on every issue: No more than one-in-ten Republicans express confidence in Biden to handle an international crisis (10%), make good decisions about economic policy (8%), deal effectively with China (8%) or make wise decisions about immigration policy (7%). About two-in-ten Republicans express confidence in Biden to respond effectively to a natural disaster (22%), while 14% have confidence in him to work effectively with Congress...

Viktor Shokin was a corrupt prosecutor who was removed from office by the Ukrainian Parliament in an overwhelming vote because he failed to investigate Ukrainian politicians for corruption. His removal was called for by the United States, the EU, the IMF, and the World Bank.

Typical pile of rightwing crap and meaningless BS from Fox "News", an outlet that has repeatedly been shown to not only be biased and inaccurate but also to air stories KNOWN to be false, all for the sole purpose of spewing their hateful garbage and keeping their ignorant audience in the state of denial that they desire. What will Fox's follow-up story be? Maybe one lambasting The Dukes of Hazzard for its theme song "We're good old boys"? No, on second thought, they won't, because that show had a lot of rednecks as fans and those same uneducated gullible rednecks are a large part of Fox's target audience.

Is Biden the smartest guy who ever lived? Obviously not but he's smart enough to have done a huge amount of good things for America in the two years he's been in office because unlike the last old dumb guy who held the job, Joe is a decent human being and is smart enough to surround himself with a good team and not a bunch of yes-men, family members, criminals, racists, Kardashians and Kanye West.

Right now at McGill they teach the Iraq war was based on lies and fraud
Biden was at the front of this he was a champion of this
also Biden was directly involved with Ukraine giving up nuclear power and pretty much everything to do with Ukraine since 2009 he’s a war guy and a strong arm yes he’s got some cognitive decline but biden has always been a very powerful man connected to the military industrial war complex
and Kamala is a strong arm also they are both Bullies
All cooperate media is exactly that corporate there’s no journalism on right or left
It’s all agendas
provoking Putin was always the plan we’re not protecting Ukraine
the money we send is for arms manufacturers and those who get favors and stock options

Weather you think I’m crazy or not
This song is really worth giving a try
Since we on Merb you all should love the title

The war in Iraq was based on lies and the personal agendas of George W, Dick Cheney, and Don Rumsfeld. I'm not saying that you're crazy, but the rest of your post is fantasy.

...vrai...à tel point que le Gouvernement Canadien de l'époque dirigé par Jean Chrétien avait pour une rare fois refusé de suivre/appuyer les Américains dans cette galère.

I didn't know that dementia is a contagious condition, but apparently it is. VP Carmilla used to be able to put together a coherent sentence but now she sounds even worse than Brandon. :D

Biden was 1 of 77 Senators, in addition to 296 members of the House, who voted in 2002 to give W the authority to commence military actions in Iraq. They were all lied to by the corrupt Bush administration. Biden was lied to yet you think he should be blamed for Iraq. That's ridiculous.
