Log-off Timeout???

This site has a timer of some kind that logs you off after a certain amount of time.

IT IS WAY TOO SHORT!!!

For the second time, I was in the middle of writing an epic review... a literary masterpiece full of all kinds of juicy details, and when I hit the send button I was presented with a message saying I was not logged in. I logged in (AGAIN) and then got a message that the system could not find what I was doing (or something like that).

And of course the back button, etc. would not allow me to recover the wonderful stuff I'd written. This is most annoying, and in this case robbed the members of this valuable information.

Administrator - please either increase the time out value or make it possible to re-log in and continue to send the message that was being written.

TimD: Sounds more like you have a page cache problem, or maybe a cookie problem that is not keeping your logged in.

There is no "timer" function, I have stayed logged in for months at a time without issue.

Yes, the site logs you out of you stay inactive for some amount of time (maybe 15 min). All the chat sites and forums I know work like this. If you have a long text to write, you can write it using notepad and after proofreading, readjusting and making it spicier, you just need to copy it and paste it to merb. So simple

We are all happy to have a site like merb. It has many nice features and the admin is doing a nice job. So there is no way to get angry about it. If you're not happy go to canbest and shell out 10$ per month to be able to read/post mesages.

Check in your options:

Browse board with cookies?
Clicking yes will use cookies to keep your id for this session. Clicking no will send it through the links. (Selecting no may cause problems when sharing links with people behind the same proxy as you)


If you say yes then probably the Cookie as an expiration time if you click no then you should be ok.
