Found this while doing some searching for gifts. The flame thrower will probably get me laid way easier than the Spiderman web shooter I got from toys-R-Us, got scammed on that one.

You BET it's still cool. I had Bratz when I was a kid and then when I grew up and Monster High started to exist I was SO jealous, because they are like bratz but cooler, and we didn't have those when I was a kid.

Some cool ideas for kids :

-Coloroing book & water paint
-Clothes, obviously
-If the 11 years old has access to a computer and likes drawing, a graphic tablet could be great !
-Nail polish (not makeup, but nail polish, because I'm not really into teaching young girls to wear makeup)
-Fill a gift bag with cheap but cool items like candies, a plastic crown, etc for the 5 y.o
-Hair chalks ! Those are so trendy amongst little girls!
-Instax mini (nice new polaroids easy to use and super fun from fujifilm)
