The scene near the beginning of the movie where a Japanese SP is sent up to Bill Murray's room by the whiskey company he's promotong?

Anyone see it? It was probably the funniest scene in the movie.

Is this even worth a thread?

As a movie buff I have to say, yes it is worth a thread!

It has got to be the funniest scene I have seen for a long time!

I think the theme of the scene was for the oriental lady to eventually receive a good reference from Bill's character. Also its objective was to demonstrate how fake the kinky part of the deal is between and SP and a client. I can't imagine anyone else in that scene other than Bill Murray.

By the way, that kind of service in Tokyo, at that hotel, can easily set you back a couple of Gs

Other than a couple of idle and meaningless moments where the girl is looking out the window of the hotel, the rest of the movie is just super! The DVD has an extended version of the talk show scene. That alone is worth renting the DVD.

And especially, at the end of the scene where she has her legs wrapped around Bill Murray's legs and she screaming "Ret me go!!!" and he falls and breaks the lamp. You're right...it HAD to be Bill Murray.

Also, later in the movie when Scarlett Johannsen asks why "they" exchange their R and L's and Murray replies that it "gives them something to do".

A couple of G's for that kind of service? I noticed how Copola (or the casting director) chose a not-so-young, not-so-pretty SP.

With all due respect, nothing in the movie would indicate that Bill Murray's character was interested in Asian women. In fact, the only woman he slept with was that lounge singer with the redhair.

As for Scarlett Johanssen's T&A...seeing more of her would be a treat. I was especially turned on by her lips.

Perhaps someone will rent it and watch that scene with the commentary feature turned on. I think there was a commentary feature on every scene but I'll have to double-check. That will give us the real story behind the SP scene.

Scarlett Johanssen has it all. Her, Jaime Pressly and Elisha Cuthbert are hot in a very simple and natural way. The Anna Nicole Smith or Pamela Anderson big boob big lips type doesn't sell anymore.
