Main page ? SPdir.cc ?

I have been noticing that the minute you click on a thread the main page reverts to SPDIR.cc and a new window opens, does anyone have an idea why ? Is it just me or has there been advertising sold to do this ?

It's advertising. Annonceintime does the same. I find this technique very annoying but understand the business need behind... So I just close it...

There was a thread on this on TERB and the mods and Fred were very touchy about it.
It is a way of advertising and bringing in more cash for Merb and it also helps the SP so the couple of seconds it takes to close it is no big deal.

It is open for you? When I open MERB it is on a red bar below enter forum, not open. I select enter forum and all is done.
