Hello guys,
Guys this is your country. I am just someone invited here and I have options all around the world.
Guys please wake up and rebuild your country.
It is very sad when you see what are the voting options here in Montreal, knowing how many great people I met here.
Canada post strike, STM strike this time for one month. I am using a lot of STM. Every single day there is so much inefficiency and lost of time especially on the green line. If you have a chance to see the metro in some european cities, the metro in Moscow - it is like a museum.
Do something and make this country great again. If not - one special type of immigration is comming and they will change your country.
I really can not believe that someone will allow a month without such an essential service.

The ppl in this country just care for far-left issues like Palestine. They protested everyday for Palestine. But Trudeau Liberal corruption, the housing crisis, nothing.

What about Lego whipping the doctors more for his failures? Instead of increasing the budget and capacity, he decides to add more restrictions, centralize all decision making, all decisions will be made by the government. This people are so incompetent. What this will do is more doctors will leave for other provinces or go private. The people had a chance and reelected an authoritarian leader like Lego. He had the most strictest covid mandates, how can people be so foolish to reelect this guy again?

The STM is strike is a disaster. Lego doing nothing, in this day and age I am perplexed at how public transportation is not classified as an essential service. The one that will pay the price the most are students and minimum wage workers. Now they decided no service at all this Saturday. Only the Mon to Fri crow matters to them. What about all the people that work weekends? They do not matter at all?

After all this people will still reelect the Liberals again. In this province they will elect the PQ.

So to conclude, Quebec keeps on talking about independence while running itself like a micro-communist state - more red tape, more control, less freedom. They drown innovators in bureaucracy, drive out business, and depend on others to bail them out. This is Peter Pan Syndrome at its finest yet they find money for trivial things like Bill 96, LA Kings, Northvolt, SAAQ Clic fiasco. At the municipal level, we got a far-left wacko like Plante wasting money putting bike paths everywhere and turning streets into one lane one direction streets, the city is so dirty, they reduced garbage collection yet taxes keep going up. It will not change till people stop electing authoritarian and far-left leaders.

Hello,
Thank you for your comment.
Completely agree with your words.
I dont have the same dictionary, but I will try to add a couple of sentences.
I really should not care because I am just an anonymous immigrant, but actually I care because I met some great people here.
1. In this province people like solidarity. Facts and history are not important, what is important is simply to be in solidarity with someone you have accepted as a victim.
2. I was waiting 8 years before I received a family doctor. Even after that I don't feel protected and covered by the health system.
3. There is an ad in the metro that on a daily basis STM has 1Mil shifts. This is a 24 hours essential service. And as usual here if someone asks an opinion people will answer with a smile - it's what it is. But for sure we are not allowed to have a reduced price on our monthly pass.
4. I just noticed that very soon SQDC will open a very big new shop on St Catherine downtown.
5. At the same time more often I meet people (immigrants like me) and I ask myself - how the system allowed them to be resident.
6. Almost everyday the price increases. If you are alone for a decent life you will need 3000-4000, and no savings are possible.

Knowing that this is a young country, plenty of natural resources, and a lot of very well educated people - what is happening is absolutely unacceptable.

I am leaving Québec soon. The reasons below makes me leave:
-carbon Tax only in Quebec, here in Toronto gas price is $1.22/L in Montreal $1.58/L :(
Carlifornia is rich, they can afford to pay carbon tax, not in Quebec, we are poor, but we pretend to be rich LOL. Inflation in Québec is 3.2 and the rest of Canada is only 2.4 because everything relys on transport and gas price is higher than other provinces! They took the carbon tax money and planted a few trees pretending it's good for the environment and climat change. LOL
-no family doctor, i am on the waiting list! Here in Ontario there are many family doctors available.
-car registration is free in Ontario, in Québec i have to pay $380 included $180 for subsidized STM bus.
-no need to mention SAAQ Ça Clique scam billion tx payors money gone.
-roads are full of pot holes because of corruption, they put cheap asphalte and keep the rest in their pockets. They always blame Québec has a has winter, but once you cross to Ontario, the roads are so smooth!
-ah, one more thing: they blame my car pollutes the air, but what about the military? How many fighter jets takes off per day? A combat tank? A missile? An destroyer and air crafts carrier? Dont tell me they all run on batteries? Are they paying carbon tax? Bunch of hypocrites!

In my opinion Quebec (especially Montreal) is the best place to live in Canada. Rent is "relatively" cheap for all the action you get (nightlife, events, etc) and you can meet people from all nationalities and very low number of racists and xenophobes. Also try hobbying in the US... this is why many Americans come here and praise the city's lifestyle.

Yeah there is corruption, but that happens everywhere. Just look south of the border... corruption reigns at the highest levels. Cronyism, crypto rug pulls by the president, bribes, etc. I could go on.. but to folks that are leaving Quebec: I think it's a good thing to do it at least temporarily to get a better idea of what you're missing/gaining.

Lastly, everybody's situation is different. Yeah if you're looking for retirement, maybe being in the harsh winters and high tax is not the best choice.

Hello,
First I do belive that we should speak instead to use ha-ha emoji. At least this is a man behavior.
Speeking about that its not a good idea leaving Quebec - my question is - do you have an experience outside Canada or outside Quebec, and please make a difference between visiting and life?

Yes I have of course. You mentioned the beauty of Moscow metro.. would you like to live there and be drafted to the SVO? If you cherry pick the best of each country/city, indeed you will build the perfect utopia. You can mention any city in the world that is better than Montreal and I'm sure folks will detail the pros and cons of that city.

Ohh but Toronto is not all green pastures as you think. I lived there for several years. Toronto rents are insane. A 3 1/2 apartment on average is going for $2500 a month. There they can ask for deposits and ask for first and last month's rents. Due to Trudeau's mass immigration policy, I hear they are asking multiple rents in advance. True there is no registration fee, but your car insurance will be triple the cost of what you pay here. Between you and I, if it were not for the insane rents I would have moved back to Toronto a long time ago. Toronto has many good things, a far better healthcare system, no language politics all is in English, none of that annoying deposit system for bottles and cans.

Trudeau reinvented the meaning of corruption. Canada never had so much corruption till Trudeau came in power. Trudeau makes Trump look like an angel. Trudeau was the most corrupted POS of all leaders in G7 countries.

I don't disagree with that.. but name me one politician that is honest. An honest politician doesn't exist because power corrupts.

I think Spain's struggles are known by all.. with all due respect, it's one of the weakest economies in the EU. Unemployment through the roof (way worse than Canada). Also.. It's part of the EU.. But you know what, it doesn't matter, because every place has its pros and cons.

Guys, please stop with this ha-ha emoji. Stend up and speak like a man.
This is about your country.
Just yesterday I visited the Salon de l'immigration et de l'intégration au Québec just for curiosity. You have no idea what is the new immigration wave. And if you really believe that everything here is fine, I just can wish you good luck.

The weakest economies in the EU is not a problem when you are smart.
But no matter how smart are you, you can not handle all no sense things here in Quebec.
I really dont mind guys. This is your country. You like it like this.
But because you belive that you are in a comfortable zone, you dont put attention to details, something that I do on a daily basis.

The truth is always somewhere in the middle, man. I did my calculation, like others have, on why Montreal is good to live in or not. I gave you specific examples of that in my previous posts. And nowhere I claimed it was perfect. But still my point stands: if you name any city in the world, people will find flaws and so on, just as you have found flaws for Montreal.

What is my truth. I do belive that you are afraid to immigrate and restart your life in another continent.
For that reason you believe that your calculations work. This is the moment when someone is searching for support about the fact that he took the right decision.

So, one more ha-ha emoji.
Right now I completely understand why you like soo much Quebec.
Please enjoy it, because the new immigration wave will change this in the next 5-10 years.
What’s funny is that many want Quebec to become its own country which will make everything 10 times worse. Quebec is looking more and more like France, which is a failed country. You’ll have the same type of society but with the cold weather and snow. It’s sad what it’s becoming really sad.

Hello,
Thank you for your opinion.
I want to be clear about this.
I argue only because people can't see all the problems in the province. What is happening - most of these people are surrounded by comfort and they stay blind for all negative tendencies here. Its like they belive that their comfort will not be destroyed by such negative tendencies.
There is soo much sex here, but there is no love.
