I think part of this guy's mentality was just showing off. He wanted to be the "Big Man" and impress the girls with his wealth. Years ago. I did some volunteer tax filing work with low income people. This one guy showed up without any of his paperwork but he did have a shopping bag with $20K in cash. He had won the lottery, cashed his check, and wanted to show me his winnings. He then announced he was going to a local bar to buy everyone there a drink. I never saw him again and wondered if he made it out of the bar in one piece. A fool and his money are soon parted.
