Huh... I know these events happened before my times too but there was a huge boom of them around 2013-2014 and times didn't changeed much since that. There was cameras, GPS and all the other stuff that exist today.
Now should anyone expect something as great as the bigger ones then? I dunno. The main issue that we would face would be participation of agencies. I think for a an industry party to be succesful you got to have on board at least ONE major agencies and said agency having about 50% of their roster represented (at the least). Then you add indies and you got a nice ratio of women. But as i said many times, what is the incentive for agencies to participate if they are already always fully booked? Another solution could be to have "smaller agencies" tag along... but in my opinion, you would need at least 10 ladies from various agencies to consider it a succes... But of course im just speculating.
After that you need a good crew to organize and thats another major roadblock.
@Flyingby Well technically it was actually a major failure last time lol. Not sure if you were joking (irony) but it really didn't worked out. That said, to my defense, as i mentioned many times it started more as a "who want to hang with me that night for a few hours" and really grew faster than anticipated. My intention at the start was not to make a "true GT" of old or anything. It was just to meet a few fellow merbites. I supose in that regard it kinda work as i did meet a few new guys but anyway i digress.
