I found my copy of the original Pulp Fiction screenplay. Here is verbatim the legendary exchange between the Bruce Willis character, Butch, and the Ving Rhames character, Marsellus, after Butch shoots and wounds Zed, who had just raped Marsellus and fucked him in the ass:

Butch: "What now?"

Marsellus (to Butch): "What now? Well let me tell you what now. I'm gonna call a coupla pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch."

Marsellus (to Zed): "Hear me talkin hillbilly boy?! I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'm gonna get Medieval on your ass."

This scene is classic, as is the line.

That scene is indeed classic (I love the concluding line "Zed's dead baby, Zed's dead"), however I think I like the first part just a little bit more. I don't know why, buy him saying "a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on the homes here..." has always cracked me up.

Favorite sci-fi movie: Forbidden Planet starring Leslie Neilsen before he became the goofy comedian he is today. First film to use an entirely electronic sound track.

Suspense film: The Lady in White. Vastly under rated film about a child killer.

Vampire movie: Fright Night and Interview With a Vampire despite the fact that it starred Tom Cruise.

Other favorite sci-fi: Alien and it's first sequel Aliens
The Abyss extended dvd version
Stargate, The Movie not the tv series
Planet of the Apes
Pitch Black

Guilty pleasures: Wild Things
Roadhouse - great soundtrack
Eddie and the Cruisers and the sequel Eddie Lives which
was filmed mostly in Montreal
Showgirls- just to see the chick from Head of the Class get
down and dirty.

favorite stripper movie: Dancing at the Blue Iguana starring Daryl Hannah and
Sandra Oh. This is on the verge of being an art film as
the film was improvised by the actors and there was
no script. The actors made up their own roles and
story lines.

I have about 250 films in my collection and growing, not to mention tv series. It's hard to pick favorites.

I purchased the Pink Panther film collection, a gift set which contains 5 of the Pink Panther films plus a bonus disc.

I am trying to find all 3 of the James Bond Collection sets. I knew I should have bought them when they first came out. Now, they are appreciating in value.

If you own the Bond sets, now is the time to unload them on ebay because Sony/MGM is preparing to release new Ultimate Editions of all 20 of 007's big screen adventures, timed to coincide with the theatrical and DVD release of the latest film, Casino Royale. The new DVDs will be released as 2-disc sets, and each of the films will include both Dolby Digital and DTS audio. Lowry Digital has apparently given the films a frame by frame digital polishing, and it's likely that they'll be released both in standard DVD and high-definition Blu-ray Disc format as well. From what I've heard, the new set will be released sometime in November 2006.

The new set has already been released in the UK in july in fancy "attache case" packaging:

I agree with Justbob. The problem is that there are always "ultimate" editions of dvd's coming on the market. A while ago they released the box set of Scarface and now they have anounced a "Platinum Edition" coming soon. It never ends. I bought the ultimate edition of Planet of the Apes in a Chimp head packaging but I know that there will be a blu-ray or HD-DVD release in the future. If you're like me, buy the movies you love and don't buy them hoping their value will increase because it never will.

Yup, the only thing that gives monetary value to DVD's is the "OOP factor" (Out of Print). In the long term, the only value these dvd's will have is a sentimental one. Personnally, I rarely feel the need to upgrade to the latest "ultimate edition" that is bound to surface. I will only upgrade if the copy I own is an old non anamorphic transfer, if the transfer is really sub-par, or if the film is one of my all time favorites. I hardly have time to watch special features anyway unless I have to review the DVD. And I certainly won't be upgrading my entire collection to HD DVD.

So buying DVD's as an investment is futile. I don't see many people bragging about how much their 8-track tape or VHS collection is worth.

Both Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg were born and raised in Boston. Damon went to Harvard although he never graduated. I guess you never saw "Good Will Hunting" or heard the story behind the making of that film?

Wahlberg's performance was the best of a bunch of good performances in the movie, and I will not be surprised if he wins the best supporting actor Academy Award. I have seen all of his movies and I did not even recognize him until about 30 minutes after his character was introduced. It was the best performance of his career including "Boogie Nights", in which he was also terrific. Wahlberg completely nailed his part in "The Departed."
